Now that our days are shorter, it’s important to practice safe nighttime driving. Here are some tips to keep you, and other drivers on the road, safe: 1. Don’t drive when you’re tired. Take steps during the day to cut down on fatigue as nightfall comes. ... 2. Complete a pre-trip safety check. Identify any damage, check that your mirrors and windows are not only free of cracks/damage, but are also clean and ensure your lights are working properly, on top of the other steps you take before hitting the highway. 3. Avoid heavy meals. When you’re full, your body is working overtime to digest what you’ve eaten, and this can make you feel sluggish. 4. Stay alert. Keep the temperature in your cab cool, play some upbeat music or a funny podcast, or call a friend if you’re feeling overtired. Even better? Take a break. See more

Since Prostate Cancer Canada was created in 1994, the death rate from prostate cancer has dropped by half. Since early detection is the key to survival, Prostate Awareness Month was created to get men over 50 and their families to start talking about testing. The Ontario Trucking Association also does their part to raise awareness every year with their Wear Plaid for Dad event, which has full-size tractor trailers travelling the country sporting pro-plaid graphics to promote the campaign. With the support of the OTA and Canadian Cancer Society, don't be afraid to ask the men in your life if they've had the talk with their doctor. https://www.plaidfordad.ca/
