Kuro Tora - Drawing Results by our Judges Harry & Caroline Ohrn Duncan takes first place. He demonstrates the movement from beginning to completion showing the shift of his legs from right to left in addition to the punch. (He may wish to look at the rear leg. Is it supposed to be locked or bent on completion?) Victoria has also done a very good job. She is second place. She is only 8 years old and has a good understanding of the punch. The hand positions, especially the thumb on the punching hand looks right

Drawing & Technique Contest Results from Judge Master Harry Ohrn and his Wife Caroline In terms of picking the top two these are them and the reason for choosi...ng them: #1 Ariel Bendig the drawing shows the steps to deliver a front thrust kick and the completed kick has the hips and back in the proper positions. This is more like an illustration than just a drawing. Well done!!! #2 - A close runner up to Ariel’s drawing was Duncan’s. He did a great job of displaying the finishing movement and his drawing was artistically pleasing. He is a good artist but beyond that he obviously know how to deliver the kick. Honorable mention goes to Jade Kish while the drawing is not an accurate demonstration of the kick, like the ones by Ariel and Duncan, the fact that she used color indicates that she took time to really think about herself as a student. Which we believe is also very important. Thank you to the students who did these fine drawings. It is difficult to pick the top two as each have their strengths. Please convey that to the students. Just doing this exercise shows a lot of commitment to their art, their club and their Instructors. Sincerely Harry
