Call for submissions for a large external conference on AIDS! Deadline October 31st, please submit your work to [email protected]. All art forms accepted, works must be about HIV/AIDS or done by someone with experience with HIV/AIDS or who participated in any activism about it ... More info: I am writing on behalf of LetsStopAIDS to express our interest in inviting members of your organizations to submit works to be showcased at our inaugural Youth-HIV Virtual Leadership Conference - NoTimeToWait 2020. Founded in 2004, our organization engages young people in the promotion of HIV prevention and positive living through open spaces that encourage dialogue. We strongly believe that every youth living with or affected by HIV must be given equal, fulfilling leadership opportunities that allow them to participate fully and engage meaningfully in life. NoTimeToWait 2020 is a virtual event designed to educate youth on the intersecting nature of HIV, social activism, and the impacts of youth leadership. This virtual event is scheduled to take place November 21-22 2020, and our team is working hard on a project plan that will ensure the best quality of delivery possible. The conference program will consist of information sessions, keynote speakers panels and Q&A sessions, as well as workshops, activities, and networking opportunities for youth, delivered in both live and recorded/on-demand formats. Each of these sessions will have direct reference to one or more of the following HIV-education related categories: Prevention, Diagnosis, Linkage to Care, On Treatment, and Viral Suppression. Your submitted works would be in an on-demand section of the virtual conferencing platform, in which attendees can view or interact with similar to a typical conference booth. We are looking to integrate many perspectives into the conference in a youthful and engaging way. Given your involvement in social activism, or the Canadian arts or scientific community, we believe your participation would be greatly valued in delivering our initiative! We will be accepting art and research from those of any experience level, but will be prioritizing work by Canadian youth. All forms of research (e.g. experimental, historical, descriptive, etc.) and all forms of artwork (e.g. visual, musical, written, culinary, etc.) are accepted. Works must be related to HIV/AIDS (eg. A performance to a song by an HIV-positive artist) or created by someone with experience with HIV/AIDS or HIV/AIDS activism. There will be no time commitment or extra work required by those who would like to submit artwork or research. The deadline is October 31st, 2020, and all submissions or inquiries can be sent to myself, [email protected].
