With warmer nights ahead, its time to move those seedlings from their cozy home indoors to the harsh conditions of the real world! The process of hardening off... is a key step in preparing them for the outdoor environment. Doing so allows the plant to slowly adjust, reducing some of the stressors that come with transplanting. Here is an easy 4 step process to get your seedlings prepared for their new home! Day 1: Place the seedlings outside in an area with full shade, bringing them back inside at night. Day 2: Place the seedlings in dappled shade, with some exposure to direct sunlight. Still bring them back inside for the night. Day 3: Place the seedlings in direct sunlight for several hours, leaving them outside over night. Day 4: Transplant the seedlings to their permanent growing spots. See more
