Our time with @westknits today also prominently featured the #fantastitch shawl Reposted from @westknits I’m so glad we have these original color palettes back in stock for the Fantastitch Shawl. I loved knitting my Fantastitch as I improvised and discovered new stitch patterns to share with you. I combined La Bien Aimée’s Suri Alpaca Kumo base with Cashmerino. The fabric is so luscious and filled with gorgeous melted textures. Swipe through the images to see a few of the or...iginal palettes that just arrived at Stephen & Penelope. We currently have all of them in stock, but they won’t last very long so head over to stephenandpenelope.com to collect your kit. The link in my profile will take you there. #fantastitch #westknits #stephenandpenelope #moreshawlsplease #labienaimee

Member designer alert. Our very own Anne Blayney's Pomegranate Ripple mitts pattern is out now via Knitty Magazine's Deep Fall 2020 issue. You may also recall that Amy Singer of Knitty was our guest speaker in March 2020. It's a small, but talented world! #Repost Anne Blayney Today is a landmark day! I have a pattern in @knittymag! ... The Pomegranate Ripple mittens were originally worked in LUSCIOUS yarn from Yarn Indulgences. We also included versions in more financially accessible yarn bases of different styles, to explore the possibilities. The design is inspired by all the wildly creative Knitty patterns like Skew and Wraptor and Spatterdash and Longitudinal where traditional construction is turned on its head. Here, the mittens start from the palm outwards! Massive thanks to Mark Whitcombe for the photos, Kate Atherley for the tech editing, and Deborah Ogden and Shall We Knit? for the yarn -- and Amy Singer for her book that taught me to knit, so many years ago, and for publishing me now! Our Guild member, D.S., shared this post today in our Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Guild Group. Thanks D.S.! "Some great historical patterns that were used to support soliders during WWI and WWII. We remember soliders today but I am drawn to the stories of how their loved ones kept the home going and supported them with love and knitwear " ... https://wartimecanada.ca/categories/handicrafts
