Hi all, We hope you are staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. The City of Kamloops is excited to announce we are bidding to be Canada’s #1 Hockey Community! As Canada’s Tournament Capital, we have a strong hockey community with over 1,300 registered players in our minor hockey program, over 60 adult rec hockey groups and host between 25 30 tournaments per season. ... We hope to add Canada’s #1 Hockey Community! to the many accolades we already hold, and would like to invite you and your team to be part of our KRAFT HOCKEYVILLE 2021 CANADA application. What’s in it for Kamloops? If successful in our application, we would have an opportunity to host an NHL preseason game, receive $250,000 towards upgrades to Brocklehurst Arena, and claim the coveted title of Kraft Hockeyville 2021! Three second place communities will each win $25,000 in arena upgrades. How can your team help? The only requirement from your organization is to submit answers to the following three questions: 1. Tell us about your team spirit as well as your passion for hockey. Can you describe examples of how this came to life? Provide specific stories of how important hockey is to individuals on your team. 2. Tell us about Brocklehurst Arena. Why is it important to your community and how would the $250,000 be best used to upgrade the Arena? 3. Why should our community be the next Kraft Hockeyville? Submit your answers directly to KRAFT HOCKEYVILLE 2021 CANADA by February 14, 2021. In addition to answering the above questions, we would love it if your team could share the Kraft Hockeyville post to rally support through your social media channels to share your support with friends, family, and community members!
