This message came from the KMHA newsletter titled High Five Of The Month. It is the KW Sertoma Clubs' vision that every child should feel special and remembered on Christmas Day. The players, parents and coaches on our Kitchener Jr Rangers u15 Tier II hockey team agree 100%, and realize how fortunate we are to play, watch and coach a sport that we love, while not really having to worry about where we are sleeping at night or where the next meal or pair of skates is coming fr...om. This year, the KW Sertoma Club Christmas Miracle Campaign reached out and asked us if we could sponsor their program by donating any new/ unused PJ's, clothes, towels, winter boots, toques, mittens, gift cards, games, coloring books, crayons, educational toys etc, etc. With the challenge set - the team came together on Dec 5th at Fredrick Mall Christmas Miracle headquarters and provided ‘arm-fulls’ of assorted gifts for boys & girls ages 0-13. In turn, the Christmas Miracle elves will sort & distribute the items to local underprivileged families based on the children’s wish lists they receive from the Regional Christmas Bureau. On behalf of the KJR u15 Tier II coaching staff, we would like to thank our players and families for supporting such a positive initiative. Happy New Year to all of you from KW Sertoma club. Christmas Miracle Sponsor A Child was a huge success this year. Our campaign was a lot different this year due to safety precautions in effect for our volunteers, our Sertoma club, our sponsors and our sponsored families. The community came together like we have never seen before to help our struggling families. The amount of sponsors, hockey teams sponsored, pyjamas, clothes, gifts, toys, monitory donations and love was over...whelming. Our pj blitz was also a huge success, every child received a new pair of pj's. Your generosity towards our children in the community was greatly appreciated knowing that they woke up Christmas morning with some gifts under the tree. Thank you to all our volunteers for all their help and support especially The Optimist Club Of Waterloo North. Christmas Miracle Sponsor A Child is going great this year. We have lots of wonderful sponsors that have been so giving to all the families that needed help this year. It’s time for our annual Poinsettia Fundraiser. There are two ways to support our Poinsettia Fundraiser this year. Buy poinsettias for yourself or for gifts ... Sponsor an isolated individual by purchasing a poinsettia that will be delivered to them Contact us to place your order. Orders are due November 25th and are available to be picked up at the Frederick Street Mall (across from CIBC) on Saturday, December 5th between 10am-3pm.
