Did you know that we were in an international competition with 46 Artists & Artist Teams from around the world? K’wy’i’y’e Spring Salmon Studio was 1 out of 6 t...hat were shortlisted for the Illuminated Public Art Sculpture at the Museum of Surrey. Here are some pictures of Drew Atkins building a maquette of our sculpture that we had to present with our design concept to a panel made up of residents of Cloverdale/Surrey, artists and staff from City of Surrey. About the maquette ~ Drew hand carved each paddle made from yellow cedar, spray painted them, inserted lights and the rest is history!
