I like capturing candid portraits like this. The breathing real in-between moments during a portrait session where families are talking and getting ready for the next posed shot. A quick exchange between father and daughter, an adjustment of angles, a snuggle with mom... just life unfolding. It’s so precious. So perfect.

Another shot from the amazing afternoon with David and Nicole courtesy of @coldstreamheli a couple of weeks ago. This helicopter elopement was AWESOME and getting to each location was basically one of the tip top ways I would like to spend my time. It's like being on a ride with the most breathtaking view you can imagine. Besides getting to go for a pretty epic spin we suddenly had access to places that you can only reach by air and to the tops of these spectacular mountains.... Add our amazing pilot Greg and an adventurous couple and we've nailed it. Dream shoot for sure. Thank you David and Nicole for bringing us along to capture this intimate elopement. I can't think of a better signing table to make it official than the basket on the side of a helicopter with this as your backdrop. #bestsigningtable #helicopterelopement

Occasionally I photograph vow renewals for couples that have been together for a number of years. I consider this an amazing gift. I just love being around couples that have felt a calling to once again share their vows and celebrate their love in this way. The love of vow renewals feels unique from other weddings and elopements... it has roots that tell a different story. I can sense the way these couples know each other... the way they have travelled life together... the way a shoulder and a cheek embrace as they lean in.

I just love getting to photograph people with their dogs. Trigg and Stella waited SO patiently while their mom and dad flew around in a helicopter for the afternoon and came back married!! It was only fair that we spent some time with the whole family and these two melted my heart instantly! #mustlovedogs

If this is what adapting and compromising on your wedding plans looks like... sign me up. David and Nicole changed their plans to include booking a helicopter with @coldstreamheli (complete with our absolute favourite pilot Greg) and an afternoon of flying from one epic snowy location to another. They got married along the way and we finished it all off with some photos with the pups once we were back on the ground. I can't think of a better way to make your elopement memorable. Congratulations you two!!! You guys were so much fun! What an adventure! Stay tuned for more photos from this beautiful elopement!
