Wow what a year 2020 was!! We had many travel plans change this year not to mention the change to how we went about our daily lives. But thru out the whole thing we really found out that we could make the most of the situation we were handed! ... So instead of travelling this year we put that money back into our house thru sweat equity! We refinished our front deck and went to composite! Man did that turn out nice and we only have to finish the stairs on it! We then decided it was time to do something about all of our drainage issues so it was time to rip out and replace 130’ of sidewalks, re slope them all so they drain away from the house! We finally had our eavestrough put on and I even had time to work on a few small custom projects! More on those to come!! Throughout all of the things going on in 2020 I was able to spend a majority of my time working on my own business from home and boy did that business grow! Not that there wasn’t headaches with advertising, I mean we did advertise thru an election that seen everyone’s cpm rise upwards of 50-75%, then we had the banning of advertising accounts issue pop up in October that made things even tougher, but thru it all we came out the other side stronger then before. We have now seen since the start of 2021 cpms have lowered back down to where they were pre election, which is obviously great for all advertisers as your dollars now reach twice as many people! Lead cost have significantly lowered and the quality of leads has drastically increased! I currently have clients bringing in leads as cheap as 1.25, and the quality is there as well! This year has definitely been a year of learning but I do know that I sure am glad we were already lined up and in the digital space before this happened, if we wouldn’t have been I’m sure my outlook on this year would have been drastically different! Lest We Forget Let's take time to stop today, and honor those who gave so much. I know this years ceremonies are a little different and most are virtual, and ...we can all get caught up in our busy lives, But today take some time to reflect and remember.

The other day I made a post saying I had my best month ever! Let me explain a little more! Sept 2020 I had my first 5 figure month!! After only 3 years of joining an educational platform and work my ass off, I have made it to a point where I have replaced my oilfield and tree moving wages! Now does this mean that I have gone online 100%..... NO!!! Why not you ask? It’s simple, if I can still successfully run my online business from home making the same money i used to but ...also have a couple days where I can get out of the house and help out with moving some trees, why wouldn’t I!! It all just adds to my monthly income, just now I am able to pick and choose when I go in!! Now I get asked all the time what I mean when I say I’m hopping in the tree truck for a couple of days, so I wanted to a share some pics of what it is I do when I’m in the tree truck! See one of the awesome things about tree moving is you see what you have done at the end of the day! You go from a yard that has no trees in it to a yard with a full shelter belt or instant trees!! It’s almost like instant gratification because you see the progress as you are doing the job! It’s just like doing my 1on1 consulting calls, it’s rewarding when you see people starting to understand ads manager and when they have that ahha moment, it’s just as rewarding as seeing that giant row of trees put in! So on this Thanksgiving weekend as we try and finish up our huge landscaping DIY project at home, I want to thank you all for the continued support and hope you all have a great thanksgiving!! (Post to follow so stay tuned for that) I have hopped back in the tree truck for a couple days a week this fall to help out, as well as get me out of the house and do something I enjoy! It’s always nice to see the job completed and all the trees moved in! For those wondering what I mean about tree truck, ...I’ll share more on that later as well! For now here’s a little sneak peak at the Reno project! This was during the destructive phase lol

It was so nice to get away with the wife and just go wherever the truck took us!! See having our online business allows us to work while we travel! Did we post content everyday?! No, but that’s the great part! We can take the time to disconnect from tech and really connect with each other, not to mention we had time we spent with family as well as some great people in our online community! ... 2000 kms later and we got to see new country we hadn’t seen before, and I was still able to do my 1 on 1 audit calls as well as a team call while we were gone! It’s so nice being able to generate an income even when we are on the road and it was as simple as finding some wifi! Well here is a little update on our deck Reno!! We have everything done that we can do so far, now we have some cement to pour so we can finish the steps but absolutely love the way this turned out! See the best thing about having our online business is that I can do my ads and calls and still have time in a day to do the things I enjoy doing! ... Now sweat equity isn’t always the funniest and at times I like to bite off more then I can chew but we always find a way to make things work!! It also helps that the wife and I work well together on these projects!

This weekend I decided it was time to take a little break from technology and we decided it was time to start our little deck Reno!! I’m going to include a couple pics of the progress thru the weekend but stay tuned to see what the before and after a are going to look like! I’m so glad I have these DIY projects that I enjoy doing and it’s an added bonus that the wife and I work so well on projects like this!!

CPL vs quality leads!! So one thing I know is that the data doesn’t lie! Our data will show us our CPL ( cost per lead) and all other info we want to find. Being I run ads for several clients I always go by the data, but one thing I don’t know is the quality of the lead. So last week I was having a conversation with one of my clients and I informed them that based on CPL and a few other data points that I felt the ad wasn’t performing where it should and that maybe a few ...changes would be needed or some testing done.... Now this is when I had my ahha moment!! You see I was so worried about the numbers that I never realized that my client was happy with the higher lead costs simply because the quality of those leads was awesome and that the conversion of said leads was doing amazing! So for all those people running ads and so worried about numbers, just know that sometimes its worth paying a bit more per quality lead as opposed to always having your data match within our specific ranges especially if lead quality is high!!

With Facebook ads lately we have really seen things go up and down! One good day followed by some not so good days, but one of things I really notice is that good ad copy makes the biggest difference!!
