Kyra and Tully 09.11.2020

More kind words, this time from a community leader in the arts. Thanks Greg! "Kyra and Tully's TIME is a beautiful burst of positive energy for these troubling times. Tully's lilting 'Monarch Butterfly' especially leaves a lasting feeling of love, simplicity and hope." -Greg Tilson, Artistic Director, Skeleton Park Arts Festival Greg Tilson booked our first tour for our self-titled debut EP under 'Lil Joe Management' and we hired Laura Kelly (Warmer) to travel with us as... our official 'road nanny' to care for Kezyan while we played shows. Greg has been a long time supporter of our music, (and many others) and because of his creative enthusiasm and passion, we proudly credit him for helping us to 'get back in the saddle' on many occasions over the years when we were finding it difficult to continue creating (or doing anything!) with our son's health concerns. When we were feeling isolated, he connected us to our art and our community. We admire and respect Greg greatly for giving so much to our community and the arts. He booked us a few times at the Skeleton Park Arts Fest and acted on Tully's suggestions to book Sloan Music and the Rheostatics at SPAF. He also included us in many community projects such as: Compilation Community CD: Apple Crisp Arts, 'Friends of Skeleton Park'. For years now M.P. Tully continues to work on his paintings for many hours most days. He has created a vast catalogue of prints and original paintings to choose from with a focus on Kingston and greater area buildings and scenes. Makes for a wonderful and unique gift option and there's still plenty of time to order! Visit his site below or buy in person at Martello Alley and The Local Store. www.mptully.com #OriginalArt #Landscapes #HeritagePainter #HolidayGiftIdeas #TIME #NewMusic #FolkMusic #CanadianMusic #CanadianArt #ygk #ygkMusic #ygkArt #PEC #LocalGiftIdeas

For our honeymoon we visited my (Kyra’s) sister Robyn Walker in California. One day, it was near dusk when we (foolishly) decided to go for a hike on the mountain, and it wasn’t long before darkness was upon us. We scrambled down the mountain, every sense heightened, chills up and down our spines, hair on end, with thoughts of mountain lions (cougars) and their hunting time. Yikes! Thankfully, we are alive to tell the tale, and able to share our cougar and RD Lawrence inspi...red song, 'Ghost Walker', on our new album #TIME. : Wood Creative Group : Lisa Ferguson Studio & M.P. Riding a Bike was written by Tully and it appeared on our debut self-titled EP (2005). It's a song about Tully's experience picking fruit in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia in the early 90's. It was written quickly with guitar at the first home we lived in in downtown Kingston with Gary LaVallee (Zap Records). It features bassoon played by Gretcha Schurer. https://youtu.be/VOs5TT75Bc8 #KyraAndTully #RidingABike #TIME #NewMusic #FolkMusic #CanadianMusic #ygk #ygkMusic

Mulberry Waldorf School is an independent school and registered charity in Kingston. Our son Kezyan, now 17, attended Mulberry programs during his early childhood years (birth to seven). Inspired by the school and by Kezyan, in 2013, I (Kyra) initiated and founded, with a group of others, Kingston Mosaic. Our family is forever changed and grateful for discovering Mulberry Waldorf School, Waldorf Education and the Camphill Movement worldwide (Camphill Special School in Pennsylvania was founded by Dr. Karl Koenig). Years later, I went on to become a Waldorf Early Years teacher, graduating with my certification in 2018 from the Rudolf Steiner Centre Toronto in Canada. #ygk #ygkMusic #Waldorf #Camphill #RudolphSteiner #TIME #NewMusic #FolkMusic #Community #CommunityLove #CanadianMusic

#TBT This time of year, around the Kingston Santa Claus Parade, reminds us of the time we released our first full length album (2010) 'Wildlife (in and out of the City)’ at Sydenham Street United Church featuring Jenn Grant and Bruce Cockburn! We had forgotten the glockenspiel at home (Kyra played gloc on our new song Far Away). It was challenging for Tully (who drove home to get it) to get past the Christmas Parade and back before our show began and Kyra and the others were starting to worry. Thankfully Tully made it back (with the gloc) in time! That was a night we will remember for so many reasons! #TIME #NewMusic #NewRelease #AlbumRelease #CanadianMusic #FolkMusic #ygk #ygkMusic

More lovely words from a talented, generous friend. Thank you Matt Rogalsky! Kyra’s earnest, mystical pop and Tully’s heartfelt songwriting and laconic delivery make TIME a warm and inviting album perfect for late fall's dark afternoons and evenings. -Matt Rogalsky, Artist/Composer (Memory Device), Queen's University. #TIME #Review #FolkMusic #NewMusic #CanadianMusic #ygk #ygkMusic

More lovely words about #TIME! "It’s beautifully made - everything filled with love in how it sounds and how it looks. The dedication to Kezyan - it’s just the most wonderful thing. What a lucky boy to have such loving parents! What lucky parents to have such a boy who inspires love to grow!" -Dr. Nadia Izbitskaya, Queen's Community Music. Nadia (as well as Dr. Anja Troje pictured here) is one of Kingston Mosaic's founding board members and continues to serve on Mosaic's... Board of Directors. Her contributions are invaluable and she has endless passion for Mosaic's work. She has cooked many delicious and wholesome meals for our board and our participants, held meetings at her house countless times over many years and volunteered at Mosaic's PA days cooking and cleaning, at our fundraisers like Winter Fair at Mulberry Waldorf School. Nadia is one of the most loving, generous and kind people we have the honour of knowing and we are grateful for her wise and loving influence in our lives everyday. #NewMusic #CanadianMusic #FolkMusic #Review #ygk #ygkMusic
