The largest one of a kind glass sculpture Taygan Crapo has yet made at 22 x 15 x 12 cm, and weighing 8 lbs. The Silk Sculpture is dramatic and compelling as it rises and twists. View it on our front window, along with the small silk knots in the last picture. #canadianglassart #glasssculpture #designinteriors #frontwindowart #emergingartist #albertanartist #bywardmarketottawa #womeninglass #artinottawa

Not the first interplanetary reference for this exciting jewellery artist, @lindsay_macdonald_jewellery, but we probably can count aloud the number of jewellery pieces out there that are brooch/pendant lockets, especially ones that combine history (antique bunny element) with the future (plexi-capsule) and the imaginary (what to keep inside). #metalcraft #metalartistry #artistatplay #artistatwork #specialcommission #invention #pendantpin #bunniesofinstagram #innerouterspace #locketnecklace #canadianmetalsmiths #designattitude #collectorcommission #ottawaartist

A powerful, accomplished, exhibition in its range and scope. Grateful to visit Anna Williams' Untold Stories I Once Wished Lost at @artottawa in person. Glimpsing the greater whole adds a rich context to the key artworks the gallery is fortunate to present at the same time. #artincanada #contemporarysculpture #dwellwithart #cbcarts #interiorinspirations #historyrewritten #animalsinnature #natureinart #humananimal #artinottawa #ottawaartist #publicartinstallation

Lisa Creskey @lisacreskey will be speaking live on #clayvoices at 3pm today. To be discussed? Her upcoming exhibition LAPai in April: "Sunset Cruise; on completing an exhibition". A multi-medium exhibition, I might add. #staytuned #artistseries #canadianceramics #artistlaunch #qanda #artisttalk #meettheartist #claycommunity #sculptorandpainter

"Point of Departure" (Meris Mosher's jewellery line) has landed-- jump aboard, welcome the future. "Resin has allowed me to experiment with colour, and provide a representation of toy 'plastic' qualities into my work. It has allowed me to play with introducing my machinist skill sets into my jewellery work by hand turning components on the lathe after creating my own material blanks." #broochnecklace #wearableart #newjewellery #colourandform #birthdaycandles #skippingstones #lapai20in2020

Anthia Barboutsis specializes in metal weaving techniques and incorporates the Japanese kumihimo braiding technique which is over 1,500 years old. #kumihimobraid was once used to tie together Samurai armour but later began to play a role in religion, tea ceremonies, and eventually jewellery. #traditionupdated #lapisnecklace #morebeadsthanyoucancount #lapai20in2020

Guardian, the title of the first painting is so named because Erin had discovered she and the #redtailedhawk share the same home territory. The second oil on canvas painting is Flicker, of the #woodpecker family. The blue sky background of Guardian is celestial, while Flicker's blue has been liberally spattered with splotches of gold, as if freshly flicked off the wing. #erinrobertson #naturestudy #canadianart #naturesreprieve #wingsoutstretched #lapai20in2020

The world has hit refresh?! Gentle weather, our neighbour's election over thus far peacefully and new work in the gallery from the inimitable Pamela Ritchie! Pamela's work is immediately recognizable and her workmanship always impeccable. These qualities she has imparted to numerous generations of students, along with Kye Yeon Son who is still teaching at #nscaduniversity, and is also a #saidyebronfmanaward winner. Pamela has retired and is now focusing on her #artjewelry practice (#hitrefresh) so I include a candid portrait of the remarkable gift of thanks given to her with umpteen charms by grateful former students. #pamelaritchiejeweller #nscadjewellery #artjewelry #technicalart #artinottawa #filigreejewelry #krusercoils #longlivecolour #lapai20in2020

Flowing and floating swirls of colour wind their way through Brad Copping's Oxbow series. Designed to recall for us the #birdseyeview snaking patterns rivers make as they carve their way through the landscape. Sheer delight to hold in your hand and feel the energy of the trails of molten glass. Great as drinking and flower vessels. #blownglass #glowingcolors #brightenyourday #giftsforfriends #functionalart #eyecharm #glassincanada #bywardmarket #ottawaart #ontarioglass #lapai20in2020

Last day to visit Anna Lindsay MacDonald's online exhibition Sidereal Year expertly presented by #coadorn. Find some of these pieces in the gallery now to expiring them first hand! Of this body of work, MacDonald says: "I endeavor to find conversations within forms, each element created for a specific purpose, each element reliant on the other. The terms Sidereal and Synodic can both be simplified to mean the observation of one thing by its relationship to another. It is in this dual framework that I have designed these jewellery objects.#virtualexhibition#coadorn#contemporaryjewellery

As always with Andrew Goss' work, the design speaks volumes through its economy. The steel outlining wire on these Dome brooches turns out to be the functioning clasp in the first image. In the second, the steel ruler functions as closure for the neck piece with the magnet embedded in the piece of dogwood. #architecturaljewelry #natureinjewelry #magneticart #designdetails #lapai20in2020
