Ever wonder why you expecting mamas can’t take a full breath or hold your bladder for more than 45 min?... wonder no more! Just a peek inside those awesome maternal bodies...

I’m literally rolling my eyes at myself for sharing a Buzzfeed article here... but these things are the reason why mothers birthing in our broken culture believe they have no options, or don’t know what their options are. It’s everywhere. Meant to be humorous or not, Media makes us fall victim to believing we have no choice. It KILLS me to hear women say they will/won’t let me..... This is your body, your baby, your birth. Your Doctor/Nurse/Midwife won’t remember your birth... experience when they’re 80 years old... you will. And that matters. So I’ll be clear here. C-Section Mamas You DO NOT need to be strapped down to the table with all those arm/hand/wrist/chest straps. Nope. Your choice. You DO NOT need to be blinded from your child’s birth and miss seeing your baby come into the world - nope! Clear curtains are a thing. Your choice. You CAN have skin to skin in the OR. You CAN have your baby in recovery after your Caesarian. You CAN breastfeed right away. In fact, science and the biological norm tell us this SHOULD be common practice, but it’s not. Why? I’m not sure. Nobody has been able to answer that one for me So many other things about this bother me. But I’ll stop there. If you’re planning a cesarean and even if you’re not... please know your options. Knowing your options, having support, and having (demanding if you must) respect in the birthing room is what it’s going to take to change the sad statistics on birth in our modern world.
