La Salle Kidz Inc. will be operating the new childcare centre currently under construction beside La Salle School. We recently got in for a sneak peek of the 40...-space facility (8 infants and 32 pre-schoolers) and are happy to share the progress. The centre’s opening date still needs to be confirmed. Parents and caregivers are kindly asked to obey the No Parking signs in front of the daycare centre. It's a tight squeeze to get around those vehicles, especially during peak times, and creates a safety hazard. Park in the parking lot while dropping off or picking up children at the centre. La Salle Kidz Daycare Centre closed today due to water leak. Expected to re-open Friday.

This is a courtesy posting for families in La Salle. La Salle Kidz Daycare Centre has a couple of full-time spots still available for infants and preschool-aged children (ages 3-6 years). If you are currently on the centre’s waitlist and interested in filling these spots immediately, please contact the daycare by email at [email protected] or by phone at 204-736-2520 no later than Monday, May 28. Beginning Tuesday, May 29, the waitlist will open up to families outside of the La Salle area.

The daycare is open, but we still need a few donations to help the children get the most of their days with us! We are currently in need of a wagon and some outdoor toys. We are also looking for pots, pans, baking sheets, muffin tins, etc. for cooking and baking. If you have any of these items to donate to the daycare centre, please call 204-736-2520 to make arrangements for drop off.

TOY DRIVE CONTINUES: As we prepare for the opening of La Salle Kidz Daycare Centre, we are looking for donations of gently used toys, books, puzzles, and other play materials. If you have the following items, please bring them to our centre weekdays between 9am and 5pm. You can also call 204-736-2520 or email [email protected] to arrange another drop off time. We are looking for toys and other supplies in good quality without reference to Disney or other cartoon character...s. We prefer not to have too many plastic toys and should have more toys made with natural materials such as wood. We are accepting the following items: Books - prefer board books and hard cover picture books Puzzles - wooden puzzles, peg puzzles, jigsaw puzzles (not too many pieces), and floor puzzles Cars and other vehicles - large and small Blocks - wood, plastic, foam, etc; large and small Play food, play dishes, play utensils and cooking pots, etc Play animals, play people Dress up clothes Dolls and doll clothes; doll furniture; doll houses Puppets Play-doh toys Musical instrument such as toys drums, tambourines, bells, etc Art supplies - paper, crayons, pencils, markers, paint, paint brushes, scissors, etc Manipulative toys such as Lincoln logs, thistle blocks, Duplo Lego, lacing toys, etc Trains and train tracks Baskets/bins for storing toys prefer clear or weaved, not vibrant colours Infant/toddler toys - not too many (can have some) that flash and make noise Riding toys Stacking toys Stuffed animals -- not too many Toys for sand and water play Outdoor toys blocks, balls, tricycles, riding cars Board games such as Candy Land, Snake and Ladders, Trouble, Sorry, etc We greatly appreciate your contribution.
