Watching my feed you may think that despite my illness I live a relatively normal life. The truth is: 1. I still have weekly bloodwork appointments... 2. I see doctors all the time 3. Its been 11 years of learning to manage this illness and most days I still think I’m doing it all wrong It’s taken me a long time to be able to share tidbits of my personal life and come to terms with the fact that this illness is incurable. This means I may have good dayseven multiple good days in a row but there is 100% certainty that bad days and slow moving days are still in my future. I chose to start sharing this part of my life because I feel that people with invisible illnesses are very misunderstood. This can cause problems for them at work, with their families and with their spouses. If sharing about my experience makes 1 person feel they aren’t alone then its been worth it. If making light of my experience makes one person laugh or smile then its worth it. Let’s go into this week giving ourselves a little grace because what we see on instagram is never the full story. In sickness and in health. Usually when people are taking their vows they think yep I can deal with the man cold or illness may be an issue in old age. Most people don’t know truly what it takes to be a partner to someone with chronic illness. Did you know that 75% of marriages that have 1 person in it that have a chronic illness end in divorce. 75%! You think you know what you’re dealing with but when your illness is storming your partner has to step up in a HUGE way. It’s ...not his birthday or our anniversary or any special occasion but I still wanted to shout out this incredible human. He can’t cook but he orders me food when I’m too sick or tired to cook. He makes sure I have the fluffy pillow and the right blanket and brings me tea and the puppy on my sick days. He drives me to my CT, MRI and doctor’s appointments. He listens to me when I’m sad or discouraged and is literally the most positive and optimistic people I know. He checks on me and worries about me all the time. So this post is a shout out to him and all the partners out there trying to navigate these illnesses on the sidelines. We know you know you can never fully understand what we are going through but we see you helping and trying. It’s the little things for me. 3 amazing products featured in my night time skincare routine from yesterday are all from @katesommerville I tried these products and just fell in love with them. Here’s a little about them. 1. Exfoliating cleanser - this is hands down the most gentle exfoliating cleanser I have ever tried! Its perfect for me because I love a medium to full coverage foundation and It feels like a gentle cleanser but it really deep cleans all my makeup off. Oh and it smells like fresh oranges.... 2. Bio-mimicking peptide serum - visibly smoothes fine lines and wrinkles and firms and tightens skin. I can literally feel my skin tighten as the product absorbs into my skin. This is a product that you can see and feel results instantly. 3. Retinol + Vitamin C Moisturizer - super rich and luxurious feeling. I use this product on my fave neck and décolletage. I make Stephen smell my face after I put it on because I smell like a fresh orange peel. Also packaging is a 10/10

That face you make when you find a new skincare product you love.... I frequently talk about skincare and how essential skin prep is before your makeup application. The most forgotten spot you should always be cleansing, moisturizing and treating is your neck. I’ve noticed in my mid 30s because I sleep with my hands over my head I’m getting fine lines on my décolletage.
