Gladiolus! Sometimes known as the sword lily are another wonderful annual that is planted by bulb in the Spring. Alike dahlias, they don’t come into bloom until August, but it sure is worth the wait! We’ll be digging up these bulbs and storing them in a cool dark closet in our basement for the winter, to be planted again next spring. We love flowers that just keep on giving year after year!

PSA! While you have extra time at home, leave everything in the garden where it is until it’s warmer. Maybe use the extra time to pick up litter in your neighbourhood instead?
