Today we honour and celebrate the 100th birthday of Inuk Elder Qapik Attagutsiak from Arctic Bay. During the Second World War, this #HometownHero contributed to... the war effort by voluntarily collecting animal bones and carcasses that were then made into munitions, aircraft glue and fertilizer. Qapik is the last known surviving person from Nunavut who contributed to this initiative. We also wanted to make this greeting available in Inuktitut: 100 . . https://www.pc.gc.ca//pn-/nu/sirmilik/culture/heros-heroes
