As the summer backyard fire pit season is quickly approaching, we would like to remind residents of City of Lacombe some key items to remember when using your backyard fire pit, * Only burn clean untreated dry wood, * Do not burn yard waste including leaves, tree trimmings, grass, * All fire pits must be more than 3m (10 feet) away from any combustibles,... * Must be covered with a metal mesh screen to prevent sparks from escaping, * No flame greater than 90cm (3.28 feet) over the top of the pit, * Must be always attended and completely extinguished when done. * Always be courteous of your neighbors when enjoying your backyard fire pit. Check out the City of Lacombe Fire Bylaw link below or contact the fire station at (403) 782-1230 during normal business hours for more details. https://lacombe.ca///1702/Bylaw-389---Fire-Services-Bylaw Summer is short, so let us enjoy it as much as we can while being fire safe.

With the most recent snow fall and snow that will continued to fall today. Roads in the area are snow covered and icy due to blowing snow. Be prepared for the unexpected and bring along extra warm clothing to stay safe in the event you become stranded.
