Lacombe Food Bank

Happy snowy Saturday everyone! I have had a lot of questions regarding the top needs at the food bank at this moment. I did stop in yesterday to see if I could get some more insight, here is what they told me: Basically they are always looking for more baking supplies: -flour -sugar... -salt -baking powder -baking soda -basically anything one would love to have on hand if baking stuff Thanks so much! The Grooming Shop has been such an amazing supporter of the food bank this year. Prior to covid they were accepting food donations in exchange for nail clipping services. To date they have donated over $800 to the food bank. Thank you guys for your support and thanks to the clients for supporting this business.

I am officially 2 weeks into running this page and I have done my 2nd roundup of donations for the food bank. Today I stopped in at Petvalu to pick up their donations and let’s just say I had another full load to deliver. Thank you Petvalu so much for the donations, I am sure the families and their pets appreciate it more than you could ever know

Ok folks I checked with the food bank today to see what items were at the top of their lists currently. If anyone is looking to donate in the next little while here are the items they are really looking for at the moment: -popcorn -toilet paper -laundry soap ... -hand soap -dish soap -cake mixes -can milk -powder milk -canned veggies -canned corn Now just to put this in perspective this was literally just one shelf she checked for low or missing items. I’m so excited to share this post. Today I swung by the grooming shop as they had reached out and said they were overflowing with donations. It turns out their nail clipping for food bank donations is a huge success! Thank you to The Grooming Shop for supporting such a great program in our community! I’m excited to head to the food bank this afternoon to drop off the donations on their behalf.

My name is Shalayne and you may recognize this picture as I had it on the community page as I was helping Wendy with the adopt-a-grandparent program for Christmas 2019. My husband and I have lived in Lacombe for about 10 years now and we can't wait to hopefully make a bigger impact on the Lacombe Food Bank by continuing to run this page.
