Happy Canadian Agriculture Day to all of Alberta's world-class farmers and ranchers! There is much good news to celebrate in this industry that fuels our econom...y and literally puts food on the table. Let's take a moment to thank, and be proud of, our producers who are constantly innovating to ensure a bright future for Alberta's dynamic agriculture sector!
Proud to announce an $800M increase in agriculture lending capacity for Alberta farmers, ranchers and value-added food production from AFSC. AFSC’s improved len...ding ability will help Alberta meet our value-added investment attraction goal of $1.4 billion for agriculture and food production over the next 4 years also our target of 2000 new agriculture jobs. Since we set those targets last fall, we’ve already achieved $527 million in new investment and created more than 981 new jobs. https://www.alberta.ca/article-investing-in-agriculture.aspx
Thank you the dozens of pastors and faith leaders I met with this morning and afternoon from La Crete, Fort Vermilion, High Level and Peace River. I thanked the...m for their vocation of service and asked for their prayers. Many leaders offered their concern for their parishioners’ health -physical and spiritual- during Covid and the restrictions. I told them I will take these concerns to our government. See more

The new La Crete History Book, "Then and Now: The History of La Crete" is still expected to arrive before Christmas. The book is made up of three volumes with a...bout 450 pages each. The first volume contains community history, while the second and third contain family histories. The price is $150 for the three volume set. Our ad in the Big Deal Bulletin states that the books are expected on December 21, but there has been a delay and we currently expect the books to arrive on December 23. People who have preordered books will be called once the books are available. We will also post updates here. When they arrive, the books will be available for pickup at the Heritage Centre. There will also be additional books available for people who have not preordered. See more
Looks like other countries have had more serious lockdowns than we have... I'm trying to find something to be thankful about but my mom always said "Don't compare!" these days may give you a false positive
Just for a little fun...nearing the end of a very tough week in Canada
I tried to contact the Alberta Government office 310.000 today and was told by an automated voice to call back later as they are experiencing a higher than normal call volume. I wasn't suprised. I did manage to reach Shane Hussey (Director, Safe Healthy Environments - Based in High Level) 780.841.3275. He is available to assist any businesses with questions. He has 2 Inspectors who will be assisting him in monitoring our region. Businesses can also get more information at: h...ttps://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx "BEND THE CURVE Due to Alberta’s high case numbers, aggressive action is required now to protect our health system from being overwhelmed. The current situation is critical. These mandatory restrictions apply provincewide and will be in place at least until January 12, 2021. Health officials are monitoring the situation and will adjust measures if required. ENFORCEMENT If you violate a public health order, you may be subject to a $1,000 fine. Additionally, you can be prosecuted for up to $100,000 for a first offense."
To simplify and hopefully answer many questions here are screen shots (in order they appeared in today's public health update video) of the new measures with some starting immediately and the rest 12:01 AM Sunday, December 13. You can also go to Alberta government website for further clarification: https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx
