The La Crete Agricultural Society is extending the deadline to the "Local Landmarks and Scenery" contest to July 31, 2021. We are seeking photos that highlight ...the La Crete area. Photo ideas would be pictures of the ferry, the Buffalo Head Prairie tower, sunrises/sunsets, the river, local lakes, local wildlife, farm life, barns, etc. It must be a photo that depicts the La Crete area. Photos will be judged on the following criteria: -Content: Photo portrays a La Crete area landmark or scenery -Composition: The photo is visually pleasing and composed well -Technical quality: The main subject of the photo is in focus. The photo overall is clear and not grainy. -Photos must have a resolution of at least 4000 pixels on the long side. When emailing a submission from a phone please make sure to select the Actual Size option to ensure the full resolution of the original photo is maintained. Seven winners will be awarded $50 each and their photos will be printed and put on display in the Heritage Centre Small Hall. Submissions can be emailed to [email protected]. The La Crete Agricultural Society is looking at offering two summer positions in 2021: Museum Assistant #1: July 5 - August 27, 2021 - $15/hour - Assist the Co...llections Manager with museum documentation and exhibits. The candidate must be between 15 & 30 years of age, have been registered as a full-time student in the semester preceding the job and intends to return to full-time studies after the job. Museum Assistant #2: May 1 - September 30, 2021 - $15/hour - Yard care, assisting with museum building maintenance, & other related duties. The candidate must be between 15 & 30 years of age and doesn't have to be a student to qualify.
