tonight was one of those nights that made me fall in love with photography all over again. these two are made for each other

family photos used to terrify me. I would go into the session a nervous wreck. trying to get the perfect shot seemed impossible. kids wouldn’t cooperate and parents seemed to be more stressed out than enjoying themselves. but through the years I’ve realized that it’s not about getting that perfect shot. it’s about more than that. I’ve learned to love those authentic and candid moments that happen naturally. to be patient if kids need a minute and let them be kids. let’s be honest you can’t really pose a toddler and expect them to smile the whole time. I’ve learnt to appreciate family photos for what they are: an honest representation of where you’re at in life, right now.
