A recent study showed that 90% of adults in North America have experienced a decline in their mental health since the beginning of the pandemic. The reality is ...that we have all had traumatic experiences, and we are beginning to better understand their impact on us. For those of us who provide wellness modalities, it is more important than ever before that we work from a place of being trauma-informed. Trauma-informed care is a strengths-based practice framework that is grounded in the understanding and consideration of the pervasive nature and impact of trauma. We promote an environment of healing and recovery rather than practices that may inadvertently re-traumatize. This workshop provides participants with tools, knowledge, and expertise on how to assist clients with care that emphasizes the physical, psychological, and emotional safety for both the practitioner and clients. Above all, the program supports you in creating opportunities to rebuild autonomy, control, and empowerment. This program is registered with the Yoga Alliance for 15 hours of YACEP Continuing Education Credits. A quick visit to Home Depot, washed the car and walked with my littles then came home. Now relaxing listening to the birds chirping away. Nice to see all the birds back. Be still for a moment and listen. Do you hear that? Natures paradise. Spring is my favourite time of year.

I found my happy place A Walk in the Park Luxstone to Midtown Pond, Airdrie A walk through Luxstone to Midtown Pond today and what a lovely day for a walk. Luxstone is one of my old hoods so have walked the paths and around that pond many times. I love the Midtown pond and bridge. Nice community feature. ... As we count down the last minutes of 2020, a year like no other, there is much to be grateful for. What are you most grateful for this year?

A walk in the park, last one for 2020. Morningside Ponds, Airdrie. Last walk of 2021. ... I was out earlier than usual today and glad I got a couple sunrise pics from my house before heading into town for my walk. Today’s walk was the Morningside Ponds. I used to live in this neighbourhood about 7 years ago so walked these paths often. The paths had been ploughed but still snow covered. I have to say I was disappointed to see quite a bit of dog poop on my walk. Please pick up after your pooch. A walk around the first pond is approx 1km. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY. What is your favourite cuppa? I'm an earl grey girl myself although I have a few other favourites. Not much of a fruity tea drinker unless it is citrus. I do like what I call my sleepy tea...the Twinings Goodnight Blend.

What is your favourite baked goods for Christmas? My daughter is more the baker than me. I'm always happy when she turns out ginger cookies and gingerbread loaf. Scottish shortbread is a favourite although we usually just buy walkers. Millionaire shortbread & mars bar squares (yummy)...I sure miss Avenue Bakery for these treats.

Jerusalem is one of our favourite dances from 2020. Last Saturday was a perfect day to get out and line dance and also to support Airdrie Lioness Club - Airdrie Lioness Club Hamper Foundation Thank you to all the ladies who donated to this worthy cause.
