Lady Larks 05.02.2021

Congratulations to the Health Arts Society of BC, which has now presented over 9000 "Concerts in Care" in health care sites across the province since 2006. The Lady Larks (formerly The K SIsters) have been performing for Health Arts audiences since 2010, including hospitals, long-term care residences, day centers and veterans centers. So much of our musical choices have been inspired by our work with HAS! The Lady Larks' final HAS performance of 2018 was at VGH Palliative Ca...re, where we entertained the family and friends of very ill patients in the atrium...and then we offered to take requests for favorite songs for each family and their loved one in each private room. Many people were very grateful, incredibly moved and deeply thankful to have the comfort of familiar and favorite songs at this time. The power of music during all stages of life and death never ceases to amaze and humble me. See more

Here we are, a few minutes after a lovely and very lively Thursday morning concert at The Silk Purse Arts Center (West Vancouver Arts Council)! A gorgeous crisp autumn day to be singing and playing music right next to the waterfront...

Representing Health Arts Society: a lively, vibrant performance with The Lady Larks and percussionist Nick Apivor at the BC Care Provider's 40th Annual Conference. Awesome job, everyone!

Thanks to the great crowd that came out tonight to hear The Lady Larks and Nick Apivor play for Music at Queens! It was wonderful to perform for such a large, ...warm audience, and to celebrate the public culmination of all our hard work this past month. Much appreciation to the Health Arts Society as well as the Queens Avenue United Church for presenting us this past month. Much appreciation must go to Caitlin Bradley Beaupré (who is performing with musica intima in Toronto and couldn't join us but rehearsed and drilled choreo and harmonies with us regardless) Kudos to my partners in crime: percussionist extraordinaire Nick Apivor; fabulous Ladies Julia Helen, Cate Richardson, and Barbara Tomasic. Well done Team Larks!!!! More photos to come, I'm sure...
