Happy Friday Truth serum.... I am LAZY..... on a Friday!... And I keep reminding myself that it’s my first day off for the weekend and it’s ok not to have a to-do list even though it’s written from the day prior. I have to remind myself that Renae if you don’t refuel the planning, organizing and executing will not be effective. If you don’t refuel, time with the family will be null and void. If you don’t refuel individuality will be will take a back seat in your life and daily happenings.... While I’m a strong believer in taking time off, I also realize that it can be hard to do. Your mind instantly goes to the million things you have to get done, and never goes to refuelling in order to get it done. I also remind myself that this too can be taken into bite sizes, start with half a day then use the next half of the day to do light duties. I hope you (yes you) learn to take a day off, refuel, be good to yourself and get back on track. Friday Night Lockdown Since 2021 has started I’ve not been sure about what to make of it or how I feel. I really appreciated 2020 for the lessons I learned and I’m looking forward to 2021.... However, I can’t help but feeling as if I may have been in autopilot mode for the most parts of 2020 and now trying to make sense of it all (hence the late start to my online activities). Hello everyone How are you doing? I took the last few weeks away from this account to focus on @takemeawayessentials and during this time I’ve really had an opportunity to see people for who they really are.... Society would want us to believe that the majority (no matter race or colour) is hateful and unreasonable, but one thing I’ve observed, while there is hate in this world there is more love and appreciation for others. Yes there may have been that person who decided to be hateful or that fried who you thought was genuine but I guarantee you that is the minority. As I choose to put back on my spectacles of optimism and dive back into mindfulness, I’m choosing to see people for the greater good rather than the lesser. And with wisdom I will approach the latter. Make no mistake, choosing to see the good in people doesn’t mean I will not observe the negative and protect my mental and emotional health. It just means, when I see you, I’ll observe you from a clean slate. For 2021 let us choose to see the greater good in people while living mindfully. Have a beautiful day!

It’s funny how they say nothing under the sun is new, since about 2009-2010 when the natural hair movement started, I noticed that a lot of the styles I wore and disliked as a child had now been considered chic, to my surprise the Bantu Knot-Out was one of them. I loved this look when I was a teen but dreaded the process. I used to do very small Bantu Knots which would take me all day to complete. Fast forward to adult life, I really didn’t want to spend hours doing Bantu knots in my hair so I tweaked the process, it may have taken me 25 years but we are here now and that all that matters.
