Embracing the coming of Fall...doing what I do best....and what I love so much... baking! This blueberry coffee cake (made with fresh Newfoundland wild berries) has the house smelling like heaven!

Eek! Tis the season! (According to our seven year old this morning at the break of dawn!) We are having fun today awakening the holiday spirit, even if it is a tad early!

Shari and her daughter stayed at Ladysmith Airbnb for over a month! Travelling in from the other side of Newfoundland, they needed a comfortable place to stay while Shari's daughter attended an athletic camp in the capital city. They were a joy to host! We barely knew they were there! Such a sweet family who gave us a five star review! You know, we''ve been very fortunate since this pandemic hit to have our Airbnb almost filled to capacity with either people on longer term work contracts or people like Shari and her daughter travelling from inside the island. We have also had a few people self-isolate for a few weeks, after arriving from international travel. Blessed, we are!

Been a while since I popped in with a smile! Just lettin y'all know I'm officially ready for Fall! Bring on the pumpkin spice everything, cinnamon dolce lattes and turkey dinners!

Nothing says Newfoundland better than some Purity Factories Jam Jams! If you're a Newfoundland'er (like myself!) you'll understand! I hope our new guests arriving today like these delicious cookies just as much as we do! I think preparing the welcome tray of goodies is one of my favorite parts of being an Airbnb host!

THIS is EXACTLY why we do what we do! When our guests leave as friends, we know it's all worth the effort! Jeffery was such an amazing guest - he had never before booked an Airbnb so he had some questions - and we went out of our way to make sure he felt at home and comfortable! We can't wait for him to return again!

I'm missing my granny square blankets on the bed & sofa, BUT we are doing every single thing we can, to ensure our guests' safety during these challenging times! You can literally eat off our floors (a good 'ol Newfoundland saying!) because we ensure our space is 100% cleaned & disinfected thoroughly! We decided to remove some items (like the blanket throws) due to the challenge of cleaning them properly. We only use cushions that have removable covers so everything can be washed & disinfected on the highest heat settings possible! We also block out a few days between guests to ensure we have ample time to do all the proper cleaning! We are proud to say that we are doing our part to keep this curve flattened!

We are super excited to try this new scent at Ladysmith Airbnb! Since we've opened our doors last May 2019, we've been supplying our guests with luxury artisan soaps, shampoos, lotions etc from TVal Skincare. This season we decided to try a brand new (to us) scent - Blueberry Juniper! While still keeping our body lotion clean and unscented! Well, we think the new scent is simply gorgeous! I hope our guests like it too!

Our first local Airbnb guest arrives today! We were so fortunate over the winter months to have someone stay in our space longer term. But we are open for Airbnb business now, and so excited to treat our guests! I was getting everything ready and realized that I really missed being a hostess (vs a landlady!)
