On May 26th, 2020 the Ministry of Health of Ontario amended Directive #2 that previously limited regulated medical professionals from working in their offices. Who: In Ontario, regulated health professions are governed under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) and health profession Acts (i.e., Medicine Act, 1991). This legislative framework establishes health regulatory colleges, which regulate the professions in the public interest. Health regulatory colleges a...re responsible for ensuring that regulated health professionals provide health services in a safe, professional and ethical manner. This includes, among other things, setting standards of practice for the profession and investigating complaints about members of the profession and, where appropriate, disciplining them. Examples of regulated providers include: Dentists, Chiropractors, Nurses & Physicians. When: The amendment is in effect as of May 26, 2020 What: Treatments that are required to be provided by a registered medical professional. These treatments include cosmetic injectables for medical and cosmetic purposes. How: The Ministry of Health has provided comprehensive guidelines for medical professionals to follow when deciding to provide treatments due to the risk of Covid-19. We continue to sanitize all treatment surfaces in between each and every patient using a bactericidal/ virucidal cleaning agent that is routine practices in Infection Prevention & Control. We will be verifying that all patients are not only symptom-free but also have not traveled internationally or been in close contact with people who have recently traveled.
