From Seth Godin's blog: Three types of kindness There is the kindness of ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’ And the kindness of I was wrong, I’m sorry. The small kindnesses that smooth our interactions and help other people feel as though you’re aware of them. These don’t cost us much, in fact, in most settings, engaging with kindness is an essential part of connection, engagement and forward motion.... And then there is the kindness of dignity. Of giving someone the benefit of the doubt. The kindness of seeing someone for the person that they are and can become, and the realization that everyone, including me and you, has a noise in our heads, a story to be told, fear to be danced with and dreams to be realized. And there’s another: The kindness of not seeking to maximize short-term personal gain. The kindness of building something for the community, of doing work that matters, of finding a resilient, anti-selfish path forward. Kindness isn’t always easy or obvious, because the urgent race to the bottom, to easily measured metrics and to scarcity, can distract us. But bending the arc toward justice, toward dignity and toward connection is our best way forward. Kindness multiplies and it enables possibility. When we’re of service to people, we have the chance to make things better. Happy Birthday, Reverend King.
Happy New Year everyone! From all of us in the office, we wish all of you all the best in 2021. We look forward to seeing you and serving you in the New Year.

Starting Monday, November 23rd to December 11th, we will be accepting food and monetary donations for The Great Haul-A-Day Food Drive. There will be a box for food just inside the door to the right, and one on the front desk for money. More information on the drive is below. Thank you for supporting our community. The Great Haul-A-Day Food Drive Who: The Paramedics, Bridgewater Police Service and Lunenburg County RCMP... What: The 12th annual Great Haul-A-Day Food Drive When: Saturday December 12th from 1-4:30pm Where: The Bridgewater Atlantic Superstore located at 21 Davidson Drive Why: To support our community, all proceeds go to the Bridgewater Inter-Church Food Bank Dear Community and Businesses Members of Bridgewater, The South Shore Paramedics, the Bridgewater Police Service, and the Lunenburg County RCMP would like to invite you to join us for the 12th annual Great Haul-A-Day Food Drive. On Saturday December 12th from 1-4:30pm at the Bridgewater Atlantic Superstore come help us celebrate the season of giving by helping us fill our vehicles full of food for the Bridgewater Inter-Church Food bank. Here are some fun ways your business or group can help support our event. 1. You could place a wrapped box in your office to collect non-perishables or monetary donations for early pick up. 2. Through challenging other companies to match or beat your donations. (Challenges will be posted on our Facebook page) ** Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we will not be accepting prizes for giveaways at this year's event. Thank you for your understanding and support. ** Donations can be dropped off in advance from November 1st to December 11st at the RCMP station located at 14 Cook's Lane, Cookville (a plastic storage tote will be placed outside for a convenient contactless drop off). Arrangements can also be made for pick up, see contact info below. Any business that donates in advance will have their name added to an event poster displayed during the event. Without the tremendous support by businesses and community members like you this event would not be possible. Last year we raised approximately $20,000 value in food items and $1124 in monetary donations, for a grand total of $97,685 over the last 11 years. Thank you to all who continue to support this community event! For more information on this event or to make a donation please contact: Nicole Monaghan Primary Care Paramedic 902-521-5325 [email protected]
