All of the pigs now live together. We introduced the girls to Louie about a week and a half ago and it was such a peaceful and easy intro. The girls all seem to really like Louie and he brings out a fun, playful energy in them. Will took the day off his art to help with sanctuary jobs. Here he is enjoying a nice moment with George during a break from the chores today. It’s so nice that we can finally pat George without gloves on now that his ringworm is healing so well. He does still have some raised, crusty skin patches on his head but our vet thinks that the skin may have been so damaged that it may never look completely normal again. George has been doing so well and is such a sweet animal. Napping party! One duck and how many goats?

Pearl may be small, but he is the most intimidating animal at the sanctuary. If you get too close to him he comes at you ready to attack. We've been hoping that Pearl would relax a bit but his aggression towards people only seems to be getting worse. We don't know if it was being raised as a solo duckling in an apartment for the first three months of his life that has made him this way, but whatever the reason he is one fierce duck with a strong dislike of humans. We think ...that Pearl might be happier living with a large group of ducks where he can be less focused on people. Valleyfield Sanctuary in PEI has agreed to take him in to live with their large flock so once we're able to get him up there, he'll be moving out.
