World Vision Canada Child marriage was common, says Shabitri. But from Nobo Jatra, I know the demerits. Girls must be married after 18. The difficulties I faced in my life came from child marriage. Shabitri was married when she was 11, but she dreams of a different life for her 12-year-old daughter Ratna. In addition to receiving entrepreneurship training through Nobo Jatra, a World Vision Bangladesh program funded by USAID, Shabitri and her husband Arobindo learned about the dangers of child marriage and how to report it or how to find authorities to intervene. Shabitri and Arobindo have also agreed to keep their three children in school. I am believing they may have a good future, shares Shabitri

Congratulations to our long-time partners THE COLOR for releasing their new single "After My Heart" in Canada today! In addition to learning about World Vision'...s work during a trip to India in 2018, the band has also encouraged Canadians to sponsor children at their concerts. Recue of the week: Pembina Valley Humane Society Important MEWS: Alumni update - McCallister This is Churchill (formerly McCallister) who we adopted from PVHS. I love how talkative he is and how he is never far away. He follows me everywhere I go throughout the house, constantly observing and giving his two cents on everything I've never known such a talkative cat. I love having a friend to talk to when no one else is around! He perfectly fits the description of a true companion. Seriously the sweetest little dude

Before the pandemic, our colleague Brett Tarver met Elena*, a 10-year-old girl picking premium coffee on a mountain slope in Guatemala. "She worked full time an...d didn’t go to school, filling basket after basket beside her family. Because if she didn’t, they wouldn’t earn enough to make ends meet. It struck me then that this was her likely future. And the cycle would continue when her own children would one day join her in the field. It wasn’t fair." Learn how coffee travels from Elena’s hands to major coffee brands. #NoChildForSale
