While speaking to a trusted confidant today, she perfectly described my operation here. She looked at my designs, smiled and said: "you are not a small business, you are a HOME business". Home is where the heart is right? All my designs come from my heart and the people that buy my designs add to my joy. Well, HOME business it is. I loved that and will be using that from now on. I am a HOME business because it's just little old me, a first time mom, creating cards when I have... time in between naps, play, walks, snacks, cleaning, cooking and organizing (and so much more) to sell to friends, family and people I know. I deal basically in cash, don't really do receipts, most of my "clients" pick up their cards from my home. It's super informal and super personal and: I like it that way. It's all I want right now. Maybe one day, I'll be a big fancy business in a big fancy store, but right now, I am just going slow. Sure, I want to make sales as much as the next person but firstly, I just want to practice my artistic skill and get it out there for people to see! If people buy, that's a lovely bonus that boosts my spirit! And everyone needs a boost! Well, it's been a while... Quarantine with a toddler has been interesting but good :) I have been working on some new designs (more photos to come) and behold: birds on a wire. ... This new series has a common theme that hits a few occasions that you might encounter. I endeavour to beat the quartile blues by loving on my family and creating designs.
