#FeministRecovery International Women's Day March 8, 2021... March 8 is International Women's Day, a global day of recognition celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and girls, and raising awareness of the work left to be done.

It was the Canadian Negro Women’s Association that introduced the celebration of Black History Month to Toronto in the 1950’s. This black Canadian community initiative was adopted by the Ontario government in 1979, thanks to its championing by the Ontario Black History Society. Attention all OTs.... Tuesday June 18 we will be hosting our year end social!! Come by the Moose and Goose on Arthur St. Between 4:30 and 7:00 pm for some food, drinks and laughs!! Be sure to bring a friend (needs to be an OT member from our local). See you there!!!

Yesterday in Thunder Bay, more than 400 residents and educators held a rally in defense of public education. Four of the education unions were represented, AEFO..., ETFO, OECTA and OSSTF. We love to see these grassroots community actions that are popping up all over Ontario. If your local is doing an action be sure to send photos to [email protected]. See more

The weather forecast isn't great......but we can show Doug Ford that although we are far from Toronto, we are committed to quality public education in the North. We are looking forward to a great crowd outside Mini Queen's Park on James St. at 4:00 today! See you there!
