Congratulations to Kelly Saxberg, Nathan Hatton, and Ron Harpelle for their receipt of a $20,000 grant from the Thunder Bay Community Foundation to develop an interactive oral history website examining the contributions of women working at the Canadian Car and Foundry during the Second World War. The 'Rosies of the North' website will incorporate interviews and documents obtained during the production of Kelly Saxberg's Rosies of the North National Film Board documentary and a collection of historical documents recently obtained from Bombardier Transportation. https://www.tbnewswatch.com//a-new-online-project-will-hon https://www.nfb.ca/film/rosies_of_the_north/

Congratulations to Dr. Peter Raffo and Greg Johnsen (MA 2018) for their success in the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society's biennial publication awards. Dr. Raffo won the J.P. Bertrand Award for the best scholarly article for his "Saul Laskin and the Making of Thunder Bay," Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society Papers and Records XLVIII (2020): 5-39. Greg won the Ernest R. Zimmermann First Publication Award for his "'Bats and Balls Have Been Sent For': The Beginnings of Baseball in Thunder Bay, 1875-1879," Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society's Papers and Records XLVII (2019): 86-106. Congratulations to Dr. Steven Jobbitt on the publication of the most recent issue of Hungarian Studies Review. In addition to serving as co-editor, Dr. Jobbitt has a co-authored editorial essay, a short article, and a book review in this issue.
