Love Letter XXXIX i keep wanting to use the metaphor of counting the love letters that have gone by by scratching them into the cement wall as the days trudge forward impervious to any previous notions of time, of momentum, of agility. but we all know what happened to ellen when she compared her life in her secluded sub tropical $20M (usd) mansion to life in prison. and we should all be pretty well-versed in the prison industrial complex by now. and we should all ...Continue reading

{{i sell this as a print dm me if you’re interested !}} . Love Letter XXXVIII if u could step inside my body you’d be swimming in vodka grapefruits and listening only to a docile wind blowing through barren trees. and that’d be it. you’d have to mine hard for original thoughts, you’d have to spelunk the abysses for any ~true feelings~, you’d have to exhume scant remnants of nutritious meals long forgotten, of the electricity of a good hug, of the joys of exercise when exercis...Continue reading

howdy all, the to-go menu for this saturday is live in the bio or for my Facebook dogs, here: https://forms.gle/hAsWassxyUpt8sGr9 . ~~~~~~~~~<<@... . the meal (can be done vegetarian): . brooding sadboi beef stew in puff pastry made with @muddyyorkco porter big ol forest green organic salad from @clearwaterfarmontario w shallot and natty wine vinaigrette pomme puree (or for any fellow americans: potatos mash) the french way dark chocolate cake . ~~~~~~~~~<@ . pick up is this saturday, nov 21 from 3:30 - 5. . ~~~~~~~~<<@ . and a quick note to the toad who narc’d on us to the health department and erroneously stated that we had people dining indoors: we’re proud to say we have not had anyone dine inside since the original shutdown in march. we haven’t prioritized our financial state over the health and well-being of our staff or our community. covid is a rampant beast trudging through the thicket of the unknown and, most of the time - if there’s a tiny sliver of solace to be gleaned - it’s that we’re all in this together. it’s that empathy and commiseration have lead the way. we’re not victims here, we’ve never felt sorry for ourselves in a time where everyone is suffering in one way or another, but to narc on us to the bureaucracy for something we haven’t even done is a new low. there’s a special place carved out in heck for all you tattlers out there. in the meantime we’re going to find a way to keep swimming, even if it’s a doggie paddle and we’re a little out of breath but the sea is mighty and she is healing and if we keep our spirits light we will remain buoyant and if we keep our eyes clear we can see the horizon and if we keep our hearts full we can all acknowledge that friday night lights was about more than just football See more

howdy all! the form for this weekend’s takeout menu is live in the bio or here for my Facebook dawgs: https://forms.gle/9V2dzuS6UNQA2Skd8 _... ~~a refresher~~ _ you get: 4 courses a bottle of natural wine a love letter from us a candelabra a playlist so you don’t have to struggle to think of something new to listen to and not come up with anything and then Wonder What That Means we get: $125 (taxes in) _ ~~this week’s menu~~~ {{can be done vegetarian}} _ classic french onion soup w gruyere lil beef wellington croissants w mushroom duxelle big green salad w shallot & banyuls vinaigrette chicken liver parfait w cornichons, mustard, pickled onions and a baguette chunk _ ~~~a hello~~~ _ it’s bleak out there. we should all be focusing on how we can rectify this problem despite murky messaging from our suburban-chosen leaders. we’re also entitled to occasional maybe measured moments of celebration and distraction cause, like, if we let the dour Nature of Things outside of us obscure all the fleeting waves of joy within we’ll never be able to summon the velocity needed for ~change~ See more

howdy all! _ we’re doing a Monthly Weird Wine Subscription. the link is live in the bio or here for my Facebook fam https://forms.gle/KSoRJKRzwycAfUUK7... _ ...The Salient Details: _ ~~~~~ _ you get: _ 5 natural/ low-intervention wines that range on the spectrum somewhere between ‘yes, a unibrow is deeply sexy, please never pluck’ and ‘this wine is surprisingly refined given the label was drawn by a 5 year old’ 1 crispy miller high life aka the champagne of beers 1 edible flower, pressed in wax and prepared for eternal beauty (cause we have to give food with our booze as per our puritan archaic bureaucratic regulations) musings on each wine that’ll teach you more about the fraught inner-workings of my deluded psyche than they will the wine but, like, whatever _ we get: _ $210 + hst ($42/bottle) _ ethos>>>>> _ yes, i made a highly questionable decision in opening a restaurant but, in doing so, was granted access to the ephemeral & vibrant and volatile world of 'natural wine'. it's really hard to get esoteric wines at accessible prices in this province because the sprawling faceless puritanical bureaucracy has sunk its bloodthirsty talons into everything it is that we love / need. therefore: i should share the access i have. i should and also i want to. covetousness is a character flaw _ this month: _ pickup saturday, nov 14th between 4:30 - 6:00 pickup saturday, nov 21st between 4:30 - 6:00 delivery sunday, nov 22nd, add $15 (delivery zone: between kipling and brimley, & eglinton and lake ontario) See more
