Duties include light cleaning, wearing proper PPE, following covid guidelines under AHS, meal planning, intake of clients, supervision of clients, enforcement of following provided rules and expectations, intervene with any issues arising, and providing a safe and caring environment for clients. Qualifications: clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector check. Must be comfortable dealing with confrontation. Must be understanding and compassionate for the homeless population. Good morning. We’ve been very blessed so far this season. We’vehad a couple donations that allowed us to purchase complete winter gear for our 12 regulars. We havent had many men’s winter clothing donations this year, if you have any men’s winter coats L-XL, ski pants M-L, or Winter boots plz think of us. There are a lot more men and women out there that don’t come regularly to our shelter but I’d love to be able to make sure they have winter gear. Thank you in advance.

Good morning. Our shelter staff now have a Facebook profile. Please feel free to add that profile. My hope is that it will make it easier for clients to communicate with shelter staff if they are away from the shelter and need assistance or someone to talk to. Our profile is literally under Shelter Staff. Also, as per AHS we can’t use communal soap or shampoo. If anyone has hotel soap or shampoos you’ve saved and never use plz think of us Have a great day everyone.

Very excited to say as of Monday we are open 24/7. Meal times will be breakfast 7-9, lunch 11:30-12:30, supper 5:30-7, snack 9:30-10:30. Doors lock for the night at 11pm so that the clients staying the night get proper sleep. Doors open at 8am.

A huge THANK YOU! To all the light workers who helped send nearly 100 pairs of mitts to Lac La Biche, Alberta, Canada, for the homeless shelter. I would say 100..., but a couple pairs slipped out of the bag, and got left in my car. Might have to mail them in! It truly made my heart happy to know that so many people were part of this random act of kindness and journey! From the lady donating them from Edmonton, to a dear friend picking them up for me, and bringing them to Mcmurray, to my kids helping me sort them out, and then the journey from Anzac to LLB. Once they made it to Lac La Biche, they had one more stop, at another friends house... then to the final destination! They arrived at the homeless shelter last night. Okisi!!! So thank you Maria, Miranda, Haylee, Frida (neice), Shylha, Agnes, and Kashina! Phew! That was a big job, couldn’t have done it without you all! Much love & light to all of you! Sending out a huge Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at the shelter.

Good morning. In a few short days I will officially have been back for 1 month and taken over as the coordinator. Working together with the board we are trying to make some very positive changes. Just want to give a little update. 1. This past week Ieshia was hired as our addictions worker. Ieshia will be working one on one with clients who want to get into mental health, aadac or any type of treatment programs. Also once we are open to full time hours she will be arrangin...g group meeting. This is a very positive step forward for us. 2. Yes we are still operating on our seasonal hours which means we are closed from 1-6 daily. 3. Doors open at 8am. Breakfast is served 8-9, lunch 1130-1230, supper is 6-8. Doors lock at 11pm to ensure the clients whom are staying get proper rest. 4. I want to send a huge thank you to all those who have been donating lately. I had a request from one of our gentleman today. He doesn’t like to wear jeans. So I’m looking for men’s track/sweat pants sizes medium and large. Also men’s pyjamas. Again thank you all for your support.

Folks We are in desperate need of men’s jeans at the shelter. 30-32 waste and 32-36 legs, also have one gentleman that wears 36 waste amd 34-36 leg. Also in need of long johns and hoodies. Please share.
