Notice anything odd about this video of my dog Laddie lining a 120yd blind? No snow! We're getting closer to club training activities! Gotta get ready for our Regular Hunt July 10 / 11!

For those asking when are going to have a club training day have a look at this video taken just a minute ago.
Okay, it's only a parking lot but it sure was good to get the dogs out today!
This is HR Woodecoy's Highland Laddie JH WCI. He got punched in the face by an angry bird last week. Another reason to have a first aid kit with you in the field.
Todays's training exercise was a marking drill. The major factor here was not distance or cover but getting past old falls to get the the last. These were all hand thrown. The thrower stayed in place until the dog picked up the bumper. Next time, the thrower will start moving to the next station when the bumper hits the ground. We moved to another field for pattern blinds.
Today's training setup. Short birds had some dogs confused. Blew right by the fall and had to work back. Note to self. Mix up distances. The left bird was very short. The point of the exercise was to have the dogs run under the arc to the 90 yard blind. On the right was an over/under presentation with 50 yd bird first then the 70yd. All were done as singles. It was a beautiful morning, only 4C
It's been a while since anything has been posted on our FB so I thought I would share a diagram of the setup that John Maffei and I ran last Sunday. The line was elevated. Distances are approximate. Six singles for each dog.
So True LOL . Who do you know?
Announcement The committee of LOHRC has been in contact with each other regarding the Hunt Test that is set for June 20-21 2020. After careful consideration for the health and safety of everyone that would be involved. The decision was made to cancel the hunt test. We are looking ahead and planning for next years Hunt Test to be a great one!
