We recently hosted our annual Gift of Christmas lunch at the Port Credit Legion Branch 82 feeding over 70 children and their families a beautiful turkey dinner with all the fixins. Everyone received a special gift from Santa. It was a wonderful day full of music, fun activities, good grub and of course Santa! Thanks go out to all our volunteers, elves and helpers.

Great time had by all.

The 10th Annual Paddle for the People fundraiser took place on August 25 at the The Port Credit Legion - Branch 82 Mississauga. The event was organized by the L...akeshore Corridor Community Team (LCCT) to raise money for those in need in the Port Credit, Lorne Park, Clarkson and Lakeview regions. Roughly 25 local businesses, individuals and sponsors competed in paddle boat races on a course set for them on the Credit River. Registrants entered for $299 per team of two, which included a barbecue lunch and steak dinner, and the paddle boats. Trophies were awarded for best times, and also for crew creativity. The Lakeshore Corridor Community Team is a non-profit group that recently started the Jim Tovey Kids to Camp program as well as the children’s Gift of Christmas event. A group of amazing people from our community shared a great August day, met new and old friends, and ate lots of good food while raising $9000 for charity. What could be better? Thanks to Port Credit Athletics for hosting yesterday's fundraising Spinathon. Close to $7500 was raised to support the LCCT "Gift of Christmas" kids party held in collaboration with local food banks, shelters and churches. The organizing team was amazing. Thanks especially to Sandra, Cara, Jerry, Walter and all the PCA staff and LCCT volunteers!
