Our 2021 Essay Contest is officially underway! If you are under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2020 and are looking for some financial assistance towards post-s...econdary education, our club wants to help you! Our club will be donating two prizes of $250 to local students, and both of the two winning essays will move on to the district competition for a chance at $2,500! We are looking for 700-800 words on "Reaching your Dreams by Choosing Optimism. Full contest details here. Don't forget to submit an application form by Feb 28 to participate.

ATTENTION hockey fans! I’m sure you can imagine, fundraising in a COVID year has been very challenging, with many of our regular events cancelled. But, supporting the needs of our vulnerable youth are even more important than ever. As many service clubs and organizations are finding creative ways to connect safely and give back, we are doing the same. And we’re having some fun along the way!!! So for any NHL fans out there, we have an opportunity for you:... We’re hosting an NHL pool, for the remainder of the season. $20 per registration - TEAMS ARE DUE ON MONDAY, MARCH 15. How to Play: 1. Go to https://www.poolexpert.com/en/home.aspx?nr=1&pid=Lakeshore 2. Register for a free account 3. Draft your winning team! Follow the prompts to choose one player from each of the 21 groups (18 forwards and defense and 3 goalies) 4. PM this page so we know you've registered. Please send $20 by e-transfer to [email protected]. 5. Points will be awarded for each goal and assist for all players including goalies. Goalies also earn 2 points for a win and 3 bonus points for a shutout win and 1 point for an overtime loss. Check your results and standings live on the website, or download the PoolExpert app for your phone! Payouts will be 50% to the winners and 50% to our club’s fundraiser, which is used throughout the year supporting causes such as Big Brothers, Big Sisters, HOBY, Adventure4Change, Kids Help Phone, Camp Kummoniwannago and Make-A-Wish Foundation just to name a few. First place will receive 25%, second place will receive 15% and third place will receive 10%. If this is not for you, keep on scrolling.
