We are so fortunate to have such dedicated citizens in in our area who give thier time to train to the highest level to ensure when the fire department is neede...d we are there. This photos has a mixof 5 different departments in CSRD Area C at the S.A./CSRD joint training center keeping thier skills honed. So many thanks to the wonderful women and men that give up so much of their time for our communities.

Event 1: The Bicycle Rodeo is for younger children (ages 2 to 10ish) where they can practice: bike safety learn hand signals, try a ...slow riding and balance competition with friends learn the skill of sharp turns in the figure 8 course go through the rock avoidance and slalom and avoid soccer cones which simulate obstacles wash their bike we’ll help them tune it up a little Event 2: Is a walking or riding ‘scavenger' hunt for the entire family to ‘discover' answers to questions Chose from a couple of routes that are either inside the park or outside along the bike trails Walk or ride as a family and bring your observing skills to: answer a number of questions we have made up where the answers are along the route o Most answers are easy, only one or two are moderately tricky and maybe discover something you didn’t know about the park or pathways in Scotch Creek. #explorenorthshuswap

Good Day. There is going to be a general population vaccination clinic April 6 to 10. At the North Shuswap Community Hall. If you would like to book your COVID-19 vaccination appointment, the phone number to call is 877-740-7747. After you call the number, listen to the message carefully, as you'll have to hit "1" about 4 times before you actually talk to a person. Insist on an appointment for the general population in Celista between April 6-10. If you have any issues, ask to speak to a supervisor. Be very persistent.

New Fresh Flag for our Lakeview Centre

This seems to have gone slightly viral. Rightfully so. I got this from my friend Bruce, a veteran himself.

Anglemont Lakeview Centre raffle draw is fast approaching. Join us in the centres parking lot or on Facebook live on September 5th for the 11:00 am drawing to see who wins the E- Bike and BBQ. Coffee and Cookies will be available by donation. Please come and join us and everyone practice safe distancing. We plan to use Facebook live while doing the draw so join us in person or on facebook.

What a great response from the community. We have sold out of tickets for the e bike and BBQ in less than 2 weeks. We checked with bc lotteries to see if we could draw earlier than the original date. They say no so we will be drawing September 5th live on Facebook. Thanks for the support of the Lakeview Community Centre.

A North Shuswap Pathway Team has come together to provide information and recommendations to our Strategic Partners as part of developing a current Active Transportation Plan. This will allow the North Shuswap Pathway Team to position itself for potential funding opportunities from all sources. Active transportation is a relatively new term that speaks to people getting from one place to another under their own power, be it: walking, cycling, wheelchair or other assisted dev...ices, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and more. The vision of the pathway team is that a pathway be built for the exclusive purpose of active transportation which goes from the Squilax/Transcanada turnoff to St. Ives.
