As of Sunday, September 20, Lakeview is again open for in-person worship but with precautions. Everyone must be masked and sit in the allocated spaces to maintain social distancing. Family or bubble groups may sit together, distanced from other worshippers. There will be no congregational singing and no coffee or social time. We'll make a record of everyone who attends worship each week in case there is ever a need for contact tracing. We are working on making the service ava...ilable through live streaming for those who do not wish to attend in person so watch the website for news of when this becomes available. Also, sign up for the church e-newsletter by visiting our website or by contacting the church office at lakeviewuc@sasktel. Sunday School is also available at the same time as worship. Children need to wear masks and go directly to the chapel before the start of each service. Cherub Choir has also started and will meet in the gym at 4:30 PM on Friday afternoons. Children must be masked and parents need to remain outside the building for the duration of the practice. We look forward to seeing you there.

An Update from the Visionary Board September 11, 2020 In an earlier report to the congregation, we proposed a return to in-person services on September 13, 2020. This was not a hard date in the sense that we really could not predict the state of our community health in advance. nor could we know far in advance with confidence the willingness of the members and adherents of Lakeview, to return to the in church experience. ... To the extent possible, I have been trying to canvas the mood of the crowd many have expressed a distinct reluctance to return any time soon. For a variety of reasons. At the same time, I have become aware of a good number who feel that a delayed re-opening is not in our best interest. And feel the need for the in-person presence to really feel engaged with the church experience. I have also been advised that the Zoom Church model has run its course and that this model of presentation is no longer effective nor desired. This means that we need to find an alternative for those who are not ready to return but do need to be connected in whatever better way there may be that is available to us. This needs a bit of investigation there will be another choice out there that we just need to find and adapt to our needs. This still seems important to us, just not the way we have been doing it. There is no right nor wrong view here. Everyone is entitled to a point of view on re-opening that does not need to be questioned or argued. Having said this, it appears that Lakeview should re-open without further delay. As it happens, recent events have made it difficult to do so on September 13. Therefore this Sunday will be a Zoom church service. Whether this is our last Zoom version remains to be known. We will seek interim arrangements for in-person services to resume on September 20 and thereafter. Hopefully, we can land on a good arrangement going forward. And for as long as it takes to install a new minister. The search for a new Minister remains a priority, and we will report on developments as soon as we are able to do so. Please speak to me or any other member of the Board about this, or any other aspect of congregational life if you have any questions or comments. Regards, Ken Ready Visionary Board Chair
