And we can't forget the craft portion.. while we will miss being in the classrooms creating with our students, Nikki and Leanne at Art with HEART Studio Inc. have us covered. They will be guiding us through a virtual Paint Night (event page to come) offered to all for a minimum donation of $5 . Not bad for a 2 hour paint class!! We are so excited to be bringing our annual Santa Sale to you virtually this year There is an online Vendor Event that we'll be leaving open for 2 weeks and you can arrange orders and pick up/delivery with each one directly. You'll find the Jensen, Poinsettia and Dekonings order "forms" available on School Cash online (Jensen is due Nov 18th). ... This year there will be a way for members of the public to order too!! Please share the following instructions with anyone that doesn't have a student at Lakewood... 1. Go to https://granderie.schoolcashonline.com/ 2. Click on: Register and then fill in the information 3. Once registered, you will need to confirm your email account and log in. 4. They will prompt you to type in the school board name- Click on Type in the school board name and as you are typing, Grand Erie District School Board will come up. Select GEDSB when it appears. 5. Next they will ask about student information. You can bypass by clicking on I do not want to add a student at the bottom. 6. Once you have clicked I do not want to add a student you will be directed to the public items. *All public items from all Grand Erie schools will be listed here. Make sure to pick the ones that are labelled Lakewood Elementary school. While we are at it, we're also making the snack program donations public for those who would like to help Thank you for your love and support Lakers

We have added an option for snack program donation on school cash online. The snack program takes funding from both Parent Committee and Child Nutrition Network to run. We are unable at this time to run any fundraisers that would normally help fund our snack program but we were allowed to add it to https://schoolcashonline.com the snack program is here to provide healthy snack to every child in the school, so if you feel like donating please know that it’s going directly into our snack program account.

Ok friends, my take from the Grand Erie District School Board meeting and only mine. First off, regardless of how you feel about the situation, the government or the School Board, REAL PEOPLE have worked incredibly hard and with incredible hearts to do their very best for our kids. Good morning Lakers, sharing this information with you about the 2020/21 school start (cc: Principal Lakewood)

Hi everyone, if you are like me (Melissa) you want to be prepared early. Especially since shopping might take a little longer right now. If you have decided to send the kids back, please find attached the message Mr. Van Laecke sent out in our email just a little while ago Second photo for context. We love you Lakers Good Afternoon parents of Lakewood Elementary School students!... Hope all is well with you and your family. Details of modified school procedures for school start-up, based on health guidelines still in development will be forthcoming. In the meantime, some of you may be eager to start some back to school shopping, recognizing that it takes longer in retail stores with their new store procedures - so some of you might want to start earlier than normal! I have heard that some school boards are not permitting access to student lockers. As our board has not yet laid out all those specific details, Grade 7&8 students may want to hold off on purchasing a combination lock until they hear from me about our school's plan for using lockers. This year, more than any, it is imperative that you label all belongings with your child's name. Here is a list of suggested supplies as a starting point. These supplies are not required, just suggested by our staff. Should you need any assistance with back to school supplies, don't hesitate to e-mail me. Have a good evening. Stay safe and stay healthy.
