Virtual Babysitting Courses The City of Edmonton is offering virtual babysitting courses this fall. These courses offer basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care and respond to emergencies. The courses also offer youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families. Courses are available in October and November, register online at MovelearnPlay.Edmonton.ca or Call 311.

HEAR YE, HEAR YE! Terrific news to help you get more involved with your community! Lakewood is waiving its membership fees of $25.00 for the 2020-2021 season! Please contact the EFCL at www.efcl.org to obtain your new membership! The new season started September 1. For this weekend to celebrate Community League Day, the EFCL has waived the $5.00 administrative fee for memberships. All memberships sold through the efcl.org website will have their administration fee refunded the following week. When going to events, in person or virtually, you can purchase a membership through the efcl.org website and the card will be e-mailed to you as an image, which can be saved to your smart phone, leave in your e-mail inbox, or print and save in your wallet.

ATTENTION COMMUNITY MEMBERS - This is Community League Weekend! Unfortunately, Lakewood has not planned any activities this year but please check out your neighbouring communities for great family and fun activities all weekend long. You can look at the EFCL (Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues) website to find many activities near (or far) throughout the City all weekend! As well, the EFCL is waiving their $5.00 administrative fee this weekend (Sept. 19-20) when ordering a membership. www.efcl.org

More great news for you, Lakewood! The EFCL has announced that there will be no Administration Fee for Memberships purchased through www.efcl.org on Community League Day. To help our Community League sell memberships in a socially distanced manner, and to celebrate Community League Day, on Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th, all memberships sold through the efcl.org website will have their administration fee refunded, the following week. Great news! Our regular monthly meetings will begin again every 3rd Tuesday of the month commencing September 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Community League ...Hall (west of Kameyosek School parking lot at 260 Lakewood Rd. East NW). Due to restrictions of Covid-19, please RSVP if you wish to attend through our Facebook on Messenger or e-mail us at [email protected] as attendance is limited. All precautions, regulations, and physical/social distancing will be in place and followed. If you don't RSVP, you may not be able to attend. Come out and see what's happening in your community!
