sentimental H O A R D E R For every single race I participated in, I collected EVERY single bib. During this pandemic and collarbone recovery, I had some time to sort through all of my bibs and choose some of the races that had sentimental value to me. I put as many bibs as I could in an IKEA frame and reflected on the rest of the bibs that didn’t make the cut and threw them away. It was time. ... I tagged people in this post who have participated in these races with me...thanks for the memories you all! What do you guys do with your medals, bibs or awards?

To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake it is necessary to stand out in the cold. Aristotle I try not to fight winter anymore. I focus on dressing warm and playing in God’s beauty. I hope you all have some time to play outside this weekend!

C O O K I N G T I P Want to try tofu in some of your curry recipes? I use tofu instead of chicken to make my own version of butter tofu curry. I would say my daughter is my biggest food critic and she loves tofu prepared this way. She also loves eating yellow rice. Here are some easy tips I thought I would share with you to make a SUPER yummy tofu and rice dish. TOFU COOKING TIP:... Instead of meat in your curry recipes, try the following: 1. Use extra firm tofu, cut into cubes and freeze 2. Take frozen tofu and thaw in microwave, discard excess water by draining and blotting with paper towel 3. Sauté tofu along with onion, garlic and spices and seasoning 4. Add store bought curry sauce and add into tofu sauté, simmer and ENJOY (My mom would cringe if she knew I was recommending a store bought curry sauceyou can make your own curry from scratch but if you don’t have time OR if you don’t know howthan store bought is ok too) RICE COOKING TIP: Cook rice your normal way but consider adding the following: 1. Stir in 1 tsp of cumin powder and 2 tsps of turmeric while rice is cooking to make rice more fragrant, delicious and colorful looking Happy experimenting and eating!

I N C L U S I O N I love the nutrition philosophy of focusing on inclusion vs exclusion. Diets denote restriction and promote the taking away of foods. This may involve a program or non-credible individual telling you to avoid: ... 1. Sugar 2. Carbs 3. Lectins 4. Gluten (unless warranted due to food allergy or sensitivity) 5. And more Are these suggestions evidence-based? Would avoiding these foods allow you to move towards health in an enjoyable and sustainable way? If you answered NO to any of the above questions, then I would encourage you to touch base with a Registered Dietitian. As a profession, most Dietitians get really excited about adding foods BACK into your diet and we teach you how to make ALL foods fit in a sustainable and nourishing wayfor body and mind. HAPPY FRIDAY A thought to leave you with this weekend: Be grateful and PROUD of how your body serves you.... No matter where you are in your journey, stop and marvel at how FAR your body has gotten you! I’m not solely talking about athletic endeavours. This includes getting through school or university, working, travelling, having babies, raising babies, going through the grief of a lost one, experiencing illness or injury. We have one vessel where we reside for the entirety of our life. Just one. All of our bodies deserve to be honoured for the job they do for us day in and out. This may sound weird, but have you ever thanked your body? If not, I challenge you to say something kind and wonderful about your body out loud. If your bold enough, share it with me below.

One thing that I’ve learned this month is that everything is temporary. Even our health. According to an article written by the Power of Positivity the top 10 most common regrets people have at the end of their life include: 1. I wish I lived more for myself 2. I wish I didn’t work so hard... 3. I wish I didn’t hold back my feelings 4. I wish I stayed in touch 5. I wish I was happier 6. I wish I cared less of what others think 7. I wish I didn’t worry so much 8. I wish I took better care of myself 9. I wish I didn’t take life for granted 10. I wish I lived in the now Is there something on this list resonates with you? For me, I have struggled with #6 and #7 (to name a couple)and I’m working on it. T H A N K Y O U Injuries are hard. Both physically and mentally. It’s been a month since my bike crash and it’s been a slow, but hopeful recovery! I have one more set of x-rays this coming weekend to figure out if I need surgery. Please send me some healing vibes that include the fusion of my bones. Thank you so much for all the encouraging messages and textsit has meant so much. A BIG thank you to all my clients who have been patiently waiting for me to return to work. ... L U C K Y Today I broke my first bone. Ironically, I touted in my previous post that I had never broken a bone . Truth be told, I always said if I got hurt or injured it better be doing something I love. And I love road biking !... Did I mention that I feel lucky? After flipping my road bike a few times, I ended up in a ditch, broke my clavicle in 2 places and have a minor concussion. My helmet was also cracked in 2 areas (which could have been my skull). The doc at Banff Mineral Springs hospital said I was lucky. And I am. Really thankful for friends who supported me through this (@rachelmorganica)and looking forward to the day I hop back on my road bike again.

I N T R O Hey everyone! I’m Lalitha Taylor and I specialize in sports nutrition with an emphasis on healthy fuelling for body and mind. I believe every BODY is worthy and strong. Thanks so much for checking out my posts. I thought I would share 8 facts about myself: 1) I love hats. Surprisingly, I’m not wearing a hat in this photo!... 2) If I didn’t become a Dietitian, I would have become an elementary school teacher. 3) I can’t watch animal movies. I get really emotional and often cry if I think something bad is going to happen to them. 4) I grew up in Lacombe, Alberta. It’s still one of my favourite places on Earth. 5) I’ve been a Registered Dietitian for almost 16 years and I love what I do. 6) I rarely follow a recipe and create most of my dishes by taste. This is exactly how my mom cooks too. 7) I’ve never broken a bone! But I’ve rolled both of my ankles numerous times playing soccer and ball hockey. 8) I love coffee and use my French press every morning to try and get that perfect cup. I’m all about building a positive Facebook community! I would love to hear an interesting fact about you too!

P O S T- W O R K O U T E A T S Had a great strength-training session with @j.n_performance and as I soon as I got home...I needed a snack! A recovery snack is so important especially when your next meal is a few hours away. A snack aids to help restore glycogen and help build and repair torn muscles . ... A recovery snack doesn’t have to be complicated folks. It also doesn’t have to involve a shaker bottle with water and protein powder (don’t skip those carbs )! Today, it was a fruit and homemade granola + Greek yogurt to give me the right amount of carbs and protein to help refuel. Not pictured is my bottle of water. Hydration is also an important part of recovery too ! Post-workout eats should be enjoyable and aid in helping you refuel and recover. A dietitian who specializes in sports nutrition can help you figure out what that looks like for you...in an enjoyable and healthy way!
