Hello everyone, Our Lions club has three announcements to share today. First, we are saddened to confirm that one of our members passed away at around 5:30 a.m. on April 3rd, 2021. ... Lion Bob was a mentor to many of our Lions and often went out of his way to have a positive impact on others. Lion Bob was also a person committed to his family and to his career. Full details regarding his upcoming visitation can be found in the obituary. https://lfpress.remembering.ca/obituary/rob-bride-1081944259 Second, with the current situation in ICU's and further impending restrictions, it is uncertain whether our Yard Sale is still going to be held on May 15th. If the situation continues to persist with COVID-19 we will likely be postponing to a later date. Another announcement will be sent out in coming weeks to confirm if details as everything plays out. Third, we are hoping to be able to have our annual Dinner and Action fundraiser this year on the condition that everyone will have received at least their first (and hopefully their second) vaccine dose by October 30th, 2021. Further details will be released on this in June. Finally, we would once again like to say thank you to everyone who has continued to support us throughout what has been for trying year. The resilience in the face of COVID-19 has been amazing and we are excited to see what happens as we continue to comeback from this pandemic.

On Saturday March 27th, 2021 our Lions conducted our first Easter Weekend Mobile Food Drive. This is our second mobile food drive since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. People have really risen to meet the increase in demand for Food Banks that has resulted from COVID-19. Thanks to many generous Lambethians & Londoners we collected four trucks (over 960 lbs) full of food for the Salvation Army Food Bank and the London Chaplaincy Centre.

Our goal is to paint London and area red with Poppies during Poppy week leading up to Remembrance Day this coming November. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for the Royal Canadian Legion. 100% of the monies raised will go to the Legion. We are selling to businesses and the general public. Because it takes many weeks to manufacture our Poppies, we ask that you pay now and we will deliver your order around the first week of October. This registered trademark MUST NOT be displayed before Oct 29th and be taken down at the end of Remembrance Day, November 11th. They can be reused for several years. Our Wartime Veterans bravely accepted the duty and responsibility to protect our rights and freedom; it is now we who must accept the duty and responsibility to honour them

Hello everyone, Just wanted to draw your attention to two different items. First, if you are looking for something to entertain yourself with, feel free to check out our first "Flash-Back Friday" post depicting our work on the Lions Martins Home, as well as our recent event update depicting photos of our Halloween Drive Thru. ... Second, please consider donating to and helping out with our Fill the Convoy Food Drive. With the pandemic, many agencies including Food Banks are facing an increased demand. On September 15th, 2020 the Lions donated $1500.00 to support the Children’s Health Foundation.Proceeds from this donation will help support both the Stand by Me initiative which raised money for the Child Life program and the other portion will help support the Memory Box program at the hospital.

With many traditional Halloween events cancelled amidst COVID-19 our Lions club felt it necessary to boost the spirits of children in Lambeth and the surrounding communities. From 1-4 on Saturday October 31st, our Lions club members handed out two two hundred bags of Halloween candy. In order to keep in line with the health regulations we made an innovative use of hockey sticks, with baskets on the end, to hand out each bag of Halloween candy. ... Two-hundred and fifty bags of left over candy were donated to the South London Chaplaincy Center.

On September 13th, 2014 our Lions club held a work day event at LMH. Throughout the course of this event we planted trees and shrubs all in an effort to spruce up LMH.

Hello everyone, the Lambeth Lions are looking for whiskey barrels or the ones cut in half. Condition is not critical. We will pick up. Please share this request. Our latest project to raise funds for our Lambeth Lions Memory Box program is the design and production of several outdoor tables. This is the first of a small group that we are making with our handmade router-leveling jig. We have not set a selling price yet but you should know that all proceeds will go to the Memory Box program.
