Let's just say I earned this glass (or bottle) of wine tonight. We had our end of year vocal concert tonight and I couldn't be more proud of my students. This... has been a very different type of vocal lessons (online) for the past few months, but they were true superstars!!! Why the wine...wifi literally stopped at my house and (thanks Telus) couldn't figure out why, so had to go to my bro's house to use theirs. Tried to link zoom to a live YouTube stream - wouldn't load (though it worked every time I practiced). We made it work on zoom, But let's just say technology was not on my side today. But my kids rocked!!!! This is my very talented student, Tori! She is graduating from Grade 12 this year from Gleneagle Secondary. This May she was supposed to perform the leading role of Elle in Legally Blonde, but unfortunately because of COVID, they were not able to perform their High school musical production. This is what I was going to give to all of my students to learn for our end of year concert ensemble. How can an orchestra conductor help in preventing coronavirus infections?

Standouts in the cast include: Alicia Rosario as Sophie, Dante Pietrangeli as Sam and Anne Claire Baguio as Donna. In fact, these three are the vocal pillars on which the success of this production rests. As Donna, the devoted mom, Baguio is possessed of fine vocal stylings. When it was time to belt, it was eminently clear that hers was the powerhouse voice needed to bring down the house. And she did! CONGRATULATIONS Claire on a fabulous opening night of Mama Mia!!!!

3 of my students are performing in this production at NWSS! Rave reviews for their opening night! Tickets are still available for tonight (7pm) Friday (7pm) and two shows on Saturday (2pm & 7pm). Can't wait to see it on Saturday!

Over the weekend we had our annual Holiday Vocal Concert! We had a full house with over 100 people in the audience enjoying my students beautiful voices. Congratulations to all on your hard work! Have a fantastic Christmas break and see you all in January. Here is one of our ensemble pieces, "Star so Bright".

If you are living in the Fraser Valley, my student Mimi will be performing the Messiah with the Chilliwack Symphony Chorus! 4 shows - Thursday to Sunday with 4 different venues! Hallelujah!
