LAMBTON YOUTH CHOIR: ‘SING YOUR SONG’ (words & music by GREG GILPIN) Several years ago, my sister commissioned our dear friend, Greg Gilpin, to compose a song for my ‘special birthday’. She secretly distributed music to the Lambton Youth Choir singers, asked them to learn it ‘on their own’, and arranged for one rehearsal prior to the surprise premiere performance at the Choir’s Christmas concert. Since that time, ‘Sing Your Song’ has remained a tradition in the Lambton Yout...h Choir’s repertoire. Years later, the Choir recorded ‘Sing Your Song’ at The Lodge Recording Studio in Indianapolis. Greg accompanied and I conducted. What a thrill it was to conduct ‘my song’ accompanied by the composer himself! Thank you, Greg, for sharing your talent in composing music that ‘speaks’ and literally, ‘sings itself’. Fast forward to Christmas, 2019. The photos are from Starbright Christmas at Victoria Playhouse, Petrolia. The opportunity for the Lambton Youth Choir girls to be included in ‘the Starbright Family’ has been life-changing. Thank you, David and David, for sharing your talents to enrich the lives of audiences as well as the lives of those who are privileged to be part of ‘the Victoria Playhouse Family’. ‘Sing Your Song’ - At this time of uncertainty and isolation from friends and family, the lyrics serve to remind us: Whether we are ‘travelling down this road of life, alone or with a friend’..We need to speak ‘words of peace in joyful rhyme’ to one another. We need to ‘stay the course’, to choose self-isolation and to ‘sing this song of ours until the very end’..until our lives return to a ‘new normal’. See more

RAYS OF SUNSHINE ON A RAINY DAY!! LAMBTON YOUTH CHOIR Garage Sale Open for business on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM. In the meantime...a ‘story of encouragement’...... Petrolia Town Wide Yard Sale the one and only fund raiser for the LAMBTON YOUTH CHOIR. For several days we have been tracking the weather in anticipation of ‘the big event’..and then. RAIN, RAIN, and more RAIN! What is there to do? This is a ‘travel year’ for the girls and we are depending on the proceeds from the yard sale to pay for our transportation for our upcoming performance tour (approximately $5,000.00). LAMBTON YOUTH CHOIR travel is indeed a unique experience the ultimate ‘family vacation’ (except all travellers pay the same amount towards the costs of accommodation and meals). The purpose of travel is to reinforce the mission of the Choir : to provide joy, comfort, and inspiration to others while sharing ourselves through our music. In addition, we strive to continue the reinforcement of social and communication skills necessary to help our girls succeed both now and in the future. We look forward to accomplishing both goals in June when we travel to Collingwood. Back to the RAYS OF SUNSHINE ON A RAINY DAY..Although we are not ‘officially open for business’ today, folks began knocking on my door at 8:30 this morning, and of course, I invited them in to have a look around the ‘full to overflowing garage’! Once the garage door was lifted, more people began to arrive! The first woman (who was from Goderich) said she comes every year and although she knew we weren’t ‘open for business’, she handed me money and said she just wanted to make a donation to the Choir! The second woman (who was from Sarnia) did the same! Two RAYS OF SUNSHINE ON A RAINY DAY a double blessing! Thank you so much!!
