While the snow is thin and the weather is nice we are busy cleaning up and making trail.

Lamont River Rats 28.12.2020

We are going to be asking those who are using our cabin this year to make sure they have passes. With the possibility of limited fundraising this year, this helps keep us in the black

Lamont River Rats 12.12.2020

WINTER CROP ADDITION: NW 1/4 of RR195 & TWP580 has a winter crop seeded. Land owner has indicated that staying TIGHT along the FENCE LINES is ok, but please asks people to stay off his seedbed. This quarter was a popular route to get to the cabin from the west trail that we made last year. Please pay attention to the changes for this year in the second pic and stay tight along the fence lines.

Lamont River Rats 05.12.2020

WINTER CROP WARNING: Please be advised that there are 4 fields in our regular riding areas that are off limits for this season due to winter crops being seeded. Please view the attached photos and familiarize yourselves as to their location. The land owner has marked as many regular access points as possible. The first location is along a regular access route from Bruderheim north of HWY 45 adjacent to RR 200 towards the El Dorena Ferry crossing. The second invloves lands that normaly serve as a main access route approx 1 mile south of the cabin on both sides of SEC HWY 831. Please ride responsibly according to the landowner's wishes. Additional routes are being developed for this year.

Think our groomer sled can pull this? ;)

Lamont River Rats 18.09.2020

If any land owners or renters have seeded any fall rye or winter wheat on any fields (or plan to) and would like to make us aware of this so we can do our best to inform our members prior to the coming riding season, please do. Or drop a line to any of our executive please.

For the Lesoway boys;)

That pretty much wraps it up for the 19/20 sledding season at the cabin and area. Want to thank everyone for helping keep the cabin clean and tidy. We will have to replenish the firewood this coming fall as we went through a lot of wood. Wishing everyone a healthy spring as we head into the growing season!

Covid19 Update: Please be aware that during this global pandemic, the River Rats Cabin remains open, however, anyone showing signs of flu like symptoms will have firewood thrown at them until they leave. (burning if necessary) Keep Calm, Braaap On

Now that we have improved access to the cabin, this would be a good time to brush up on our trail etiquette

After much deliberation, inspection and respect to those land owners that still have remaining crops on lands where we typically ride, we regret to inform you that our members ride for Sat Feb 22 has been cancelled. There is simply too much unharvested crop down and after much discussion the board felt it best to not jeopardize future riding opportunities by running 150 + machines through areas where those crops could be further damaged. We have sent out an email to all members outlining a social gathering for next Saturday, and we hope to see as many of you at the cabin as possible.

The new ODX B2 BiColour LED for Powersports vehicles will increase your visibility on the trail with either an intense YELLOW colour on the low beam and a cold ...white 6500K on the high. The yellow light passes through the powdery snow left by your fellow riders or during a snow storm to increase your enjoyment, safety and the safety of others around you. The B2 LEDs have no ballast, allowing it to be installed almost everywhere, even in the most restricted areas. Its efficient double ball-bearing internal fan increases life and the output power of the LED chips considerably. All ODX LED assemblies project a ultra-white light with a wider spectrum than the original bulbs. These are only available in H4 and H13 bulb styles and are sold in singles. All the Powersports bulbs are guaranteed as long as you own your vehicle. Go to www.odx.ca for more information about these and other lighting solutions. For this and other National Exclusive brands, please call us at 1.800.279.0636 or visit our website www.bbdistribution.ca @ODXlight #CarAudio #LEDheadlight #led #ledlights #customheadlights #headlights #retrofitheadlights #headlightretrofit #projectorheadlight #retrofit #retrofitheadlights #odx #performancelighting #ownthenight #audio #12volt #bbelectronics #bbdistribution #exclusive #carmod #headlightmod #atv #sidebyside #motorcycle #snowmobile #powersports #yellowfoglights #switchbackheadlight #nightriding

Heads up to anyone looking for deals on season end riding gear. Martin Motorsports has a customer appreciation deal happening right now where for each $100 spent on gear and apparel, you save $30. Saved $90 on some Klim boots yesterday. Not sure how long this deal is going for but it's a pretty hot deal

A Reminder our River Rats Members Ride goes this Sat Feb 24. Staging will once again happen at Delph Hall with Registration and wiener roast starting at the hall at 11am. All riders must have an ASA trail pass and if you don't have a season pass, they will be available along with a one day ASA pass. The trail making has been in progress. While the snow is generally good, the rain has made for some tricky crust conditions in certain sections. Also, with not a lot of riding happening in our areas over the past 3 yrs, a lot of familiar areas have changed with some areas closed off now. Ride aware and stay on the trail during the ride! We look forward to having a fabulous day!

Lamont River Rats 18.04.2019

We haven't seen a good dump of snow like this in a while. For those who like to ride along the wooded trails along the river and elsewhere, it might be a good idea to pack along a chainsaw for the first few rides as there is a good amount of downfall trees that haven't been dealt with in a while due to the lack of snow over the past couple years. The club will start working on establishing a trail for the members ride later in Feb.

Lamont River Rats 21.10.2018

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Lamont River Rats Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday Dec 4 at 12pm at the Lamont Curling Club, with lunch provided. Among the topics to be discussed will be the situation that exists throughout our riding areas of unharvested crops, with the poor weather this harvest season. The River Rats are fully supporting land owners who have unharvested crops by asking our members, and their guests, to avoid fields that have standing crops or unharvested swaths... on them. If you find yourself in a field that has unharvested crops, please slow down immediately and carefully exit that land, being sure not to damage those crops. If you are a land owner with downed crops on your field, we would appreciate you notifying the Club as to the location of those areas so we can perhaps compile a list of areas affected near our regular riding areas. You can email this information to [email protected] We also ask all our members this season, more than ever, to purchase their ASA trail passes and to place them on your machines. We want to ensure as best we can that our members sleds are not mistaken for other non member riders that may decide not to follow our guidelines for this riding season. It's always important to respect the land on which we are allowed the privilege to enjoy during the sledding season. Lets make sure we exercise our diligence in ensuring we remain extra vigilant this riding season, as to not damage our relationship with the many land owners who allow us to enjoy our pastime.

Lamont River Rats 19.10.2018

A reminder, now is a good time to check trail areas for downed trees and branches to make it easier to deal with before the snow flies.
