Oh boy, it's been a while. Sorry for the radio silence on this end. I'm dropping back in with a new blog post though, my first one in a hot minute! Last fall, I took off on a solo jaunt across five states. It was a lot of things, to say the least: exhausting, awe-inspiring, frustrating, incredible, trying, and everything in between. It's safe to say I learned a thing or two and made more than a few mistakes along the way, and so I wanted to share my thoughts on going at it alone. If you're looking to set out on your own, whether it's across the world or across your hometown for the weekend, here's something for you!

Here's a photo of my first sunset in the desert. It was taken during golden hour sometime between an accidental offroading situation that nearly flipped the Santa Fe {took a good decade off my life with that one} and camping under the milky way 10 miles down a pitch black middle-of-nowhere dirt road with a kind stranger from the US Olympic rowing team, after we had both messed up and not found a half decent spot to park and crash for the night. Life, hey? ... After sundown, I had snuck into the state park washroom to brush my teeth {class} and baby-wipe the sweat and dust off my warm skin before returning to the car. I remember catching a glimpse of my reflection in the weathered mirror, cheeks flushed from the sun, before I ran out. And my eyes were a little tired, probably from many hours driving alone and the compounding sleepless nights spent at truck stops, but surprisingly bright and familiar, you know. The kind of brightness that stems from excitement and living in a whirlwind. The kind of familiarity born from the deep-seated, visceral knowing that you are home and held, and just where you need to be. That kind. I've to share much from my roadtrip back in September. Truth is, it was a lot to process and I've yet to find words to do it justice. But I have many stories patiently waiting their turn to be put on paper, so I hope to be able to share a few with you soon. In the meantime, here's a split moment during a damn good couple hours where life was infinite and I was impressively grimy. See more

99% of decisions can be resolved with a measure of heck yes or nah. Life's too damn short for lukewarm maybes. If something is pulling you, and I mean like that just-can't-shake-the-feeling sort of pull, the visceral one that rattles you to your core, go whole heart and full send. That's it. Some kind of crazy magic transpires once you decide you're committed and all in. Even if it's uncomfortable. Even if it doesn't make any reason...able sense. Even if you're not sure how on earth you'll pull it off. You'll find your wings in the realm of heck yes, I can promise you that much. See more
