Lanark County Pickers 08.05.2021

The last year has been crazy for everyone and has led to a lot of changes within our little Lanark County Pickers business. I started this business years ago, as kind of a side hustle, with my mother but she has decided to retire completely and I have been handling everything for the last year. With the Queen's closed for the lockdown, it gave my husband and I a chance to rethink our business goals. We have moved our space at the Queen's, we are no longer on the stage but ha...ve a large space by the back door. We will be changing up our inventory a little bit, adding some more of our own products. My husband is a blacksmith so we will be adding some of his work to the booth. There will be a few changes and we will be announcing as they come up. I'm considering adding a Facebook store page for those who prefer to shop online. I have a Square so I can take debit and credit if you don't want to visit the Queen's. If you have any suggestions, questions or comments please feel free to reach out.

I just added some Christmas fabric and DIY projects to the LCP booth at the Queen's. I'll be in on Sunday for the Vendor meet, 2 or 3 vendors come in for a couple hours, to give shoppers a chance to meet us and make some deals. Hope to see you there.

There are a lot of new items available in our booth at the Queen's Crafters and Antique Market. Lots to look through and some low prices. (starting at $2) We're trying a new auction system this month and giving maxsold.com a try. We've also added Square and will be able to take debit and credit, starting next week. Of course, the Queen's already has debit/credit if you are shopping there.

Working the market today. Unpacking 2 more containers of new items and I still have several containers at home. Come in today for some great deals. Many of the other vendors are starting to bring in Spring items and have some great new items to search through.

Are you a coffeeholic like me? This is the best coffee I've ever had (and I've had a ton) Great names, great flavours and great people. My favourite flavours, right now, are Shipwrecked Jamaican Rum and Rot Chocolate, hot chocolate with caffeine!

A lot has changed this year, for everyone, but for us it means not having auctions anymore and pivoting how we work. The booth at the Queen's Crafters and Antique Market has doubled in size and we are working on filling it up. Just a few pictures to show what we have in. The market has several new and very talented vendors so come have a look. We will continue to update this page as we work to implement our new plan.

The Queens has decided to close until at least April 1st. I will be posting items online for sale and organizing the sun porch for pickups.

I've been in talks with MaxSold about the upcoming auction and right now they are leaving choices up to sellers to proceed with scheduled auctions or not. Given that my mother and brother are both immunocompromised, I'm hesitant to have people come to the house for pickup. They are unable to be in public and will depend on my family to run errands if they are quarantined for an extended time. As a small business, these times are very difficult. I will be attending to the booth at the Queen's during closed hours but in the event that the store closes, everything will just be sold online and I will figure out a way to accomplish pickups without interaction. I have a feeling our over sized sun porch is going to come in handy. I will update soon.
