Please note: effective immediately. If you call us for veterinary care and you begin to berate, yell or cuss you will be terminated as a client and banned. If you are a not a client your name and number will be added to a list and you will be denied veterinary care. We understand, that due to covid, many veterinary clinics are not accepting new clients and those that are have seen a huge increase of new pets and we are trying to accommodate as many as we can sadly we cannot accommodate everyone.
Please note that both our offices will be closed on Friday July 31 and Monday August 3. During this time, for emergencies please call ALTA VISTA ANIMAL HOSPITAL, in Ottawa, 613-731-6851 or DVM in Montreal (514) 633-8888. Thank you for your understanding and patience while we take this much needed time off to recharge. Also, person in charge or our social media accounts and e-mails will be away from July 30 until Tuesday morning August 4.
As the province moves towards phase 3 please keep in mind that some business have not been permitted to open. We are one of them. COVID-19 UPDATE: June 8, 2020 Please know that we are operating in accordance with the CVO & EOHU regulations. Although the gvt will be allowing certain venues to open with specific regulations in place the CVO has not given us the green light to allow people in the office. Therefore the same previous rules of NO ONE other than staff is permitted to enter our office will be applied. Payments can be made by Visa, Master Card, Cash and E-transfer.... We are open our regular hours though we are offering curb side service. This means you must remain IN YOUR vehicle and we will go out and greet you. ALL medication and food request must be made at least 24h in advance. Same day service is not available during this time. Please note that when one office is open our other location will be closed as we are all working together in order to provide the best and most efficient service. COVID-19 UPDATE: *April 3, 2020* Please be advised that the CVO has implemented new changes to how we conduct our appointments: *The goal of restricting services is to ensure veterinarians will be allowed to continue, and have the required physical and human resources, to provide needed veterinary care for the duration of this unprecedented event* *If you have been out of the country recently, please make arrangements with someone to have them bring your pet to us on your be...half* 1-We are not accepting any new clients during this time. 2-NO ONE is permitted to enter the office. We will go out to your vehicle to pick up the pet from you. Payments can be called in via credit card over the phone or etransfers. 3-If you require food or medication only please make payments prior to arriving and someone will take the item(s) out to your car. *If you cannot make it to the office Tracy will happily drop off your paid items to you on Fridays after 130pm Our ability to provide care for your fur kids is dependent on our health. Today was our first day/time to ever have appointments without the pet's parents in office. We want to thank each and everyone one of you who followed the new implement protocols without any issues, in fact most of you even thanked us for taking extra measures. You all made today amazing. WE’RE HERE FOR YOU As we all continue to closely monitor COVID-19 across Canada and the United States, the health and well-being of you, our clients, and the staff, are our top priority. * Please note that we will be limiting the number of people who will be permitted to be in the clinic at the same time. * You will be asked to wait in your vehicle until your appointment time.... * We ask that you limit the people entering the office to one person per family with your pet and that you please make arrangements for child care and not bring them with you. * ALL PRESCRIPTIONS must be called in. This includes ALL FLEA, TICK AND HEARTWORM medications. If you walk in to pick up medication you will be ask to return at another time or possible day to pick them up. We understand that this is not how we have previously allowed things to happen however in light of current event and the state of emergency being called we are taking more precautions than normal. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 and will continue to communicate with our during this uncertain time. If any of you do not wish to come to the office Tracy has offered to drop off items already paid for to you on her own time. BREAKING: Just now, after a robust discussion at the Annual General Meeting of the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association, Alberta’s veterinary community passed... an amendment to their Veterinary Profession General Regulation prohibiting medically unnecessary surgical procedures. The list of now banned procedures includes: Canine ear cropping Canine tail docking Forelimb dewclaw amputation Cosmetic dentistry Body piercing Devocalization (debarking) of dogs and Feline Partial Digital Amputation or declawing Additionally, the ABVMA passed amendments today mandating registered members to report cases of animal abuse and neglect and to take action in cases of animals in distress. A truly monumental day for companion animals in Wild Rose Country. Kudos to Alberta’s vets and techs for being champions of animal welfare in our country. Manitoba, you’re up next...
